Philips && vorbis support
...se from Philips.
As you can read, they have no intention to support Ogg Vorbis in the
near future. Perhaps if more of us ask for this kind of support, they
will be interested in adding support. So, go to the philips website
and ask for Vorbis support ! Spread the word ! ;)

[paul@mail.me.maar.nu: Building vorbis-tools without libao]
...ill have a huge collection of Vorbisfiles before the
rest of the world even knows about 'em. Even though this
means ripping 1300+ CD's - with the audio quality of RC2,
I'll simply build another encoder box when I have the cash
to speed things up ;)
Cheers all !

PS: For the guys with a math degree: I wasn't done yet
encoding my CD's to MP3. 1300+ Albums @128Kbit dont fit
in ~30GB (which is, BTW on recent count closer to 40).

ogg123 crash
...rtstree to fix
this issue, can someone have a look at the patch to ogg123's
vorbis_comments.c (below) and add this fix to the vorbis-tools
codebase ?
I have sample OGG files giving this behaviour available upon request
(for debugging purposes only), if needed.
Thanks,

oggenc crashes on WAV input (with q > 4.99)
...00, but have no way to be sure.
If you're interested in the coredump, please let me know and I'll
put it online too. A full version (at -q 4.99 or the original WAV) can
be made available too if deemed necessary. Please contact me privately
to arrange this.

INBOX as mbox, other mailboxes as maildir
...Mail, but that's not where my
IMAP client saves its sent mail.
I'm quite obviously doing something wrong, is this possible at all ?
What is the correct incantation for the default_mail_env setting for
such a setup ?
Any clues would be greatly appreciated,
Cheers,

file(1) support for Ogg and Ogg/Vorbis
...know it's data ;) For
total world domination (or what was that goal again) I think file
support is quite desireable.
Does anybody know how file(1) works anyway ? ;) From reading some
magic(5) I got quite light-headed .. I think someone cast a spell(8)
on it ;P
Cheers,

...tool that can fix this for me
(subtract the first granulepos-value from all others. I dont know if
that'll do the trick, but in my non-technical opinion it sounds like
it should). Anyone in the know have a fix or some tool ? Perhaps
updates are available in CVS ?

Building vorbis-tools without libao
...d all but ogg123. Of course,
I could install libao or copy the tools I need from another
box but there's little challenge in such a solution ;)
Can anyone give me some pointers on how I should change the
source distribution to build without libao and ogg123 ?
Thanks !

DO NOT REPLY [Bug 7870] New: --link-dest=${SRC} ${SRC} ${DST} can be smarter
...${SRC} ${SRC} ${DST} can be smarter
Product: rsync
Version: 3.0.7
Platform: All
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
Severity: enhancement
Priority: P3
Component: core
AssignedTo: wayned at samba.org
ReportedBy: weerd+rsync at weirdnet.nl

When using the --link-dest= option and the link destination is the same as the
source, rsync should skip the comparison step and just link all regular files
and create other filetypes (directories, device nodes, etc).

Is there anyone working on something like this ? I'd like to add
lyrics to my music collection but I'd rather see them in the Ogg then
in a separate file '<songname>.txt'.
TIA,

Trouble building libvorbis-1.0rc3
...e tell me what I've done wrong ?
I've also tried removing the examples/ directory. After that, I could
succesfully install libvorbis, but then vorbis-tools bombs on
./configure whining about a missing libcurl (which, to me, seems
unrelated).
Any help appreciated.

trouble compiling vorbis 1.0 on openbsd
Compiled libbogg and libao using ./configure; make
Then moved to libvorbis source folder
Installed libtool (1.3.5p3), autoconf (2.52) and
automake (1.4-p5). gnu make is also there (3.79.1)
i had to create a link for autoconf as after
install it was installed as /usr/local/bin/autoconf-new
so i added a link from it to
/usr/local/bin/autoconf
output from ./autogen is:
--
$ ./autogen.sh
