help with RewriteRule regexp
I tried:
RewriteRule ^webmail\.|/webmail
https://%{SERVER_NAME}%{REQUEST_URI} [L,R]
But that does not rewrite for http://webmail.domain

postfix/dovecot/mysql quotas not working, default dovecot.conf does.
I'm having problems getting dovecot to set imap quotas that are
defined as individual quotas for virtual users using mysql. I'm using
postfix/dovecot 1.1.3, just built from source about a week ago.
I've been testing using telnet and getquotaroot. when I define the
quota in dovecot.conf
quota = dirsize
quota_rule = *:storage=102400
I get the following response from Dovecot:

help with RewriteRule regexp
...egexp skills are somewhere infinitesimally close to zero. I have
never really 'gotten' them.
That said, I have spent a couple hours already search for help to write
a rewriterule that works on a string in the URL. In particular I want
success if either of the following were provided:
webmail.domain (e.g. webmail.foo.com)
server/webmail (e.g. www.foo.com/webmail)
And I have not found anything like this, nor do I know even close enough
of regexp to recognize something like this in another expression.
Thanks for the help.

restrict webmail access
Hi
I'm using dovecot imap with ldap accounts. User management interface is
phamm. Internal clients connect directly using imap client. External
clients must use webmail (squirrelmail). But not everyone is supposed to
use webmail. Is there any way to control who is allowed to log in from a
specific IP (webmail ip)?
Thanx for suggestions

Scraping AOL Webmail to login and fetch contacts?
I''m helping with a gem that is going to published under the
contentfree project on rubyforge
(http://rubyforge.org/projects/contentfree/).
The gem is called "blackbook" and basically it will go and fetch your
contacts from the major webmail providers. So far Gmail, Yahoo!, and
MSN have been completed.
We are trying to finish up with fetching contacts from AOL Webmail.
However its a bit more difficult because of the javascript-like
validation AOL has built into their sign-in service.
The only resource I''ve found that talks...

[Semi-OT] Advice on large webmail setup
Hi all,
As the resident Linux guru, I've just been tasked with costing a webmail setup
for about 600 000 users. They each have 10MiB (small, I know) mailboxes. The
current setup has about 40 million web page accesses per month.
Has anyone here any experience with this kind of thing? If so, any pointers as
to software and hardware used, and any other advice would be apprecia...

Change it the other way around:
remote 127.0.0.1 {
protocol imap {
...
}
}

Webmail probably just quickly opens and closes the connections, so there aren't any connections that are visible for more than a fraction of a second.

Stateful Webmail
...(http://www.orbited.org), which
provides a TCPSocket interface in javascript (emulated over HTTP using ajax
and comet.) This TCPSocket allows true bi-directional communication between
a web browser and an arbitrary tcp server. One of the other developers
pointed me to a recent dovecot thread about webmail. Sorry for the new
thread (I just joined this list and couldn't reply to the old emails).

Ideas for Webmail/OTP
I want to discuss some problems/enhancements for dovecot in a webmail/otp setup.
For access to an IMAP server like dovecot I see different client types:
a) a "normal" MUA installed in a more or less trusted environment
b) remote access via "webmail" from untrusted environments
For a) I see with dovecot and other IMAP servers no problems, tricky...

SSL 143/notls stuff
Hi Everyone,
Just trying to work out how totally disable SSL/TLS support on port 143
while enabling SSL support on port 993
In the config file when I comment out the setting "ssl_disable = yes", I
have Webmail client that will no longer be able to auth against port
143, Now I can get the Webmail client to sort of work via using the
setting the port to "143/notls" but the main problem with that is that
the WEbmail client does not support that setting correctly, giving the
Webmail issues in other...

login_trusted_networks from webmail ?
I'd like to get the IP-address of the webmail-klient logged in my

noticed that with login_trusted_networks pointing at my dovecot
directors, we get rip=client-ip logged on the backends. How is the proxy

IMAP only for some users or via webmail
...;m a newbie with Dovecot and I have some questions,
I'm testing Dovecot 1.1.11 in a virtual machine. I wish in the future,
migrate this to a real server.
Ok, but i need this:
1) A group of users can use IMAP or POP3.
2) The others, only can use POP3. But, this users can use IMAP only
with a webmail (the webmail is in the same server that Dovecot)
It is possible? How?
Thanks!
