Saving files with Opera to a Samba share, printing
...: I have had problems with 2.2.3 and 2.2.3a in combination with the MS-printing wizard in w2k (didn't see my printers- couldn't upload drivers or use uploaded drivers). Those problems seem to be solved and my network is running great now...  Problem with Mac OS X Clients
Hi, I have installed a Debian / Lenny with Samba 3.2.5 and put it in an existing Domain. All works fine. I can Authenticate the Users and and give them permissions to write while I connect from a Windows- or Linux-Client. How to force Windows 95 to use specific Domain?

Samba 2.0.6 (Suse 6.3) and weird log.smb.old Problem

ms word and samba 2.0.6 problems
a plea to anyone who is using ms word from ms office 97 to access word documents on a samba 2.0.6 server from nt workstation 4 clients... can you send me the relevant smb.conf section for any samba shares that you use to read and write shared ms word documents? i'd like to know if you're doing anything funky with locking or something like that. i'm trying to allow a group to share

Permission problems on Mac OS X
I know this might be half OT, but nontheless Samba is involved. A customer of mine has two Macs with Mac OS X 10.5 and is sharing a folder on one of them. We'd like to avoid any permission problem, so I put the followinf in smb.conf: create mode=0777 force create mode=0777 directory mode=0777 force directory mode=0777 This is usually enough to achieve what I want, with other OSes.
