dns lookups for SRV kerberos
...guration (typical for an AD infrastructure) is to have 2 DC's, which are KDC's as well as DNS servers. What happens when the primary DC is unavailable is that both the primary KDC and the primary DNS are down. Timeouts summing up, the result in a default RHEL5 configuration is to have "wbinto -t" take 21 seconds to accomplish. (3*5s DNS timeouts + 3*2s KDC timeouts) For the moment, DNS Timeout can be lowered to 1s but not less. Still, I don't understand why these DNS lookups are made at all with this configuration. machine being dropped from ads
I've noticed this happening quite often, my server after a while gets dropped from the domain controller. I join it like this... net ads join -U samba@CORPEDIA.INTERNAL -S windowsserver.corpeda.internal I came in this morning and noticed that I could not login to my shares, so I did a net ads info. and it came back with could not find any login servers. net ads testjoin failed but net rpc testjoin work
Hello, I have a very strange trouble with samba 3.0.33 when I integrate a Linux server in my Windows 2003 AD. I do : - kinit administartor, it's work. - klist, it's work too. - net join ads -U administrator, it's work. I hev the message that my computer has join the domain and I see the Linux in my Domain. - wbinfo -t give me "checking the trust secret via RPC calls
