an RPM conundrum
...- Base
Server: CentOS-3.3 - Extras
Server: CentOS-3.3 - Updates
Finding updated packages
Downloading needed headers
Resolving dependencies
....Unable to satisfy dependencies
Package rpm-build needs rpm = 4.2.3-10, this is not available.
Which I assume is caused by my version of rpm: rpm-4.2.3-10.WB1
I can't seem to figure out how to convert RPM packages and, of course, I can't
simly rpm -e rpm and then use the erased package to install itself. I've
tried a simple yum --download-only ... but the dependency check still
occurs.
Any thoughts on what to try next?
TIA,
Barry

Best way to add/update an installation
In an effort to prevent getting many minutes into an installation only
to have a CD read fail (I did verify the CD's first), I did a minimal
install. Can I use the minimal install to add the necessay packages for
a HTTP server and graphical interface?

reading quattro pro spreadsheet .qpw into R
I have many quattro pro spreadsheets and no quattro pro. Is there a
way to access the data using R, or any other solution that anyone can
think of?
thanks,

Python/sqlite date time problems.
...some date/time issues but I can't pinpoint exactly
what. Can anyone shed any light or prod me in the right direction? The
Whitebox systems *do* still have a smattering of Whitebox related
RPMs...
[root at devmon1 python]# rpm -qa | grep white
rpmdb-whitebox-4-0.20050504
whitebox-logos-1.1.25-1.WB1
That system did have whitebox-lsb installed too but I've rpm -e'd it
and replaced redhat-lsb, haven't rebooted yet but that's next on the
agenda.
Cheers.
Will.

Because both collars may have recorded the single contact, I need to
remove the reciprocal contacts from this dataset. For example, you may
have records for "CO1 CO2" that are mirrored by records for "CO2 CO1".
If there are the same number of records it doesn't m...
