specifying ssh port #?
Perhaps this is a lame question, but...
is there a way to pass an SSH port # to rsync?
At least one way I can do it is to use a small shell wrapper around ssh
and pass the port # thru the environment. Just wondering if there is an
easier way that I magically can't find.
The reason for this is primarily because I find myself having to copy
files between some local host and some remote host

winxp + sambs 2.2.3a (as PDC) + printers = no go
...c? All of this workes fine
with samba 2.2.1a ("fine" := "no INTERNAL ERROR"). And it seems to work
fine (still) when win2k talks to 2.2.3a.
Please note: Apparently I can print via the XP box, it just doesn't show
me anything in the silly-ass GUI.
TIA.
Ciao.

browse lists and "ghost" machines
...'t the cleanest or most ideal setup, it works. More or less.
All the windows clients can see one another, but none of them ever go
away when they're powered down. :( Is there a way around this? I can
send snippits from the samba configuration files if need be.
Thanks,

Error connecting from XP Pro
Hello List,
I have been trying to connect from an XP Pro box to
the samba (2.2.2 from RPM on RH7.2) machine. I am
trying a simple (!) configuration with just a
WORKGROUP setup.
XP sees the the box running samba (in the My Network
Places) but cannot see anything below that. I get

What appears to be the same problem is happening to me. Mac OS X

router to a ZyWall 5 IPsec firewall and thence to a SMB share (Samba

3.0.14a: print driver deletion w/ rpcclient
W/ Samba 3.0.14a I've installed an apparently buggy printer driver (for
a Brother HL1670N). From a Win2kSP4 client:
- log into the samba server as me (the printer admin)
- go to Printers share
- right-click on printer, go to Properties
- it bitches about print driver not being installed, asks if I want to
install it, I click No
- go to Advanced tab, click New Driver
- proceed to add driver
