Announcement: 3ware 9500S Driver disk for ISO Installs now available for 32 bit CentOS
...20.c0.EL to run on athlon and opteron based systems.
A newer version is in the works based on the 3ware 9.1.5.2 version of the
sources and should be available within a few weeks. This version should
increase RAID 5 performance by 30% (per the 3ware people).
These driver disks are free but have no waranty. They have been tested on a
dual opteron based system running the 32 bit version of CentOS 3.3. (We
needed this version for application compatability). The system boots with a
warning about a tainted driver but functions fine (we compiled the drivers
on a whitebox linux system). This will be fixed...

move samba file and print shares
Hello all
Is this possible?:
samba3.0.3pre2 running as domain member with winbind, acls on reiser
providing file security
this is all on a seperate disk mounted as 'data1'
Could I take this disk, put it in a new box, mount it again as data1,
then copy the old smb.conf over to the new box? (I would also join the
domain with the same name as the old box)
Thanks in advance,
H

CE certification for Europe
Hello,
I'd like to ask if there are any news about CE certification of the E1
boards. I know that the T1 boards are FCC certified but I'd also like to
know what is the status for CE certification.
Thanks for any input,
Vlasis Hatzistavrou.

Nasty kernel panic
I have seen the following kernel panic 5 times today on
three different machines, two of which had been stable
for months and one of which is a brand new install.
We are running the x86_64 xen kernel and userland tools that came in the
Xen 3.1.0
tarball from xen.org, on top of scientific linux (redhat clone)
5.1 or 5.2.
