Losing wallpapers on roaming profiles
Hi! I'm getting difficulties with wallpapers on roaming profiles on a samba 3.0.9-2.3 under SuSE 9.2 with Windows XP Professional Clients. I discovered, by reading other postings concerning this topic, that Windows won't use jpegs as wallpapers on roaming profiles (converts them to bmp and stores them in "Local Settings", wh...

Image Downloads in IE
Hi, This may not be a rails issue, if not apologies. I have an application which allows image downloads. The image is downloaded with the code: send_data(@wallpaper.image, :filename => @wallpaper.path, :type => @wallpaper.image_content_type, :disposition => "downloaded") However, Internet Explorer doesn''t download the image, it

Custom wallpaper on CentOS 7?
Hi, I just installed CentOS 7 + GNOME on my Asus S300 laptop. So far everything runs very nice and smoothly, and I'm quite happy with it. Curiously enough, I can't seem to be able to set a custom wallpaper. I tried various locations like /usr/share/backgrounds, /usr/share/backgrounds/gnome and /usr/share/backgrounds/images, but the images don't appear in the wallpaper selection

Custom wallpaper on CentOS 7?
...option you > will see Picture URI. On my desktop I simply right click on the desktop > and select 'Change Background'. > > You can also change the background from the settings. Thanks. The wallpaper can be changed indeed using Tweak Tool. But there's no way custom imported wallpapers can be made to appear in the preview window. I'm right now discovering GNOME 3 Classic, and I must say I like it. On the other hand, the missing wallpaper review is really a bad design. RHEL 4 + 5 wallpaper?
Hi, I know I know: upstream minus artwork. Nevertheless, I admit I'd like to simply use the RHEL background wallpaper for my desktop. Something like: http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/linux/images/rhel4/44-Desktop.jpg Can't seem to find these (4 and 5). Any idea? Cheers, Niki

(?) Dual-monitor wallpapers on CEntOS 6
I've recently set up two workstations running CentOS 6, one with an nVidia card and the elrepo drivers and one with an ATI Radeon card with the elrepo fglrx drivers. Both work well, but one aspect of the systems works different from CEntOS 5 on those systems: I cannot get a wallpaper image to span the two monitors. I have tried both with and without xinerama and there is no difference

Roaming Profiles Annoyances
Hello, I've finally managed to get roaming profiles working (kindof). However some issues (after lots of googling) remain unresolved. Here's a summary of what I've done to date: 1) Setup samba shares according to gentoo-wiki.org <http://gentoo-wiki.org>(there were some problems with permissions etc after that but they're ok now) 2) Edited NTUSER of a foobar user account

User has no privileges to add printer or even change his wallpaper
Hello I have a question related to Samba + Win2k Workstations. I have replaced a Win2k server by Samba (2.2.4). Everything was fine: the users could login and access shares, but they could not connect to printers shared on another Win2k workstations and even could not change their wallpapers. Since I needed to do that work fast, the solution I could find to this situation was to give to all users admin privileges in their own Win2k workstations (it was a small network, so this could be done with no problems). Although that worked, I really think there?s another way of solving that p...
