NUT support for multi-OS environment
Hi All: I am interested at looking at NUT to manage shutdown response to power outages more efficiently. Presently I have an APC SmartUPS 1500 which connects to a "server" using a USB connection, from where I run a shutdown batch file for our server environment. Currently I have 3 boxes running XCP with a number of servers on them, a XenServer box with a number of MS servers

OSX file creation problems
I am running a REHL 4.3 server with samba RPMs: 3.0.10-1.4e.9 When an os X client connects to our samba server it can copy files from the server an overwrite other files that already exist. However when it comes time to create a file, it fails, where this process works correctly from a windows system. In addition, I can go to where the volume is mounted on the os X (10.3.7) machine and copy

Automated Binning for building predictive models
Hello, Currently I am using R for building a logistic model using numerical and nominal data as predictors. Before doing the regression, the predictors are grouped. The groups I determine manually by trying to maximize the information value (which is an indicator for the discriminatory power of the variable) under the condition that enough data are within each group (approx. 5%). Is there a

The other day I could not reach apache from the outside, so I tried to fix it by restarting computer, upgrading apache, upgrading shorewall, but nothing helped. I can reach apache if I do "shorewall clear", but with it active it doesn''t work. Now what is most confusing is I did not change

prio qdisc broken?
Hello all, I might make a fool out of me, but I think the prio qdisc doesn''t work as advertised in any document I could lay my hands on. The following tests and observations were made with Linux kernel 2.6.20.21. This makes it up-to-date in the 2.6.20.x kernel family. My problem was that the link quality reported by the olsr.org olsrd degraded depending on the amount of payload
