Add Workstation to Domain - valid local system user?
Hi! I'm running Samba 2.2.7a as Domain Controller, and when I try to add a workstation to the domain, I get always the following logentry (and the operation fails): [2002/12/20 14:30:21, 0] passdb/pdb_ldap.c:pdb_getsampwnam(859) LDAP search "(&(uid=vmware-w2ks_)(objectclass=sambaAccount))" returned 0 entries. samba resolves wrong wins ip address
Hello all, This has been making me crazy for a while, but it seems like a really easy fix. I just can't figure out what it is. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have two Linux machines existing on a mostly MS network and have samba running well on each. However, one machine resolves the wrong ip address of the other machine. Here's the setup. Machine 1: Laptop uses DHCP to

Upgrading Samba: minimum requirements for Samba wrt Solaris and gcc
...wd -j' command returns the text: Broken pipe and does the same on Solaris 8 (and gcc 2.8.1). I need to be able to join the NT4 domain right now, but I will want Samba to take over PDC duties soon. The current Samba here (2.0.7) doesn't provide group membership information to the two W2KS Citrix boxes here, so it isn't used as a PDC. Do I have to get a newer version of gcc to compile on Solaris 2.5.1? If so, what version would be best to move to? Or, do I have to upgrade Solaris to compile and run a newer Samba stably? If so, what would be the best choice right now. Does...

Roaming profiles problem
Hey all, I've got a few WinXP workstations logging into a 2.2.4pre (CVS from April 30th, around 8 p.m. PDT) PDC, and I'm having some sort of odd problem with roaming profiles. The XP workstations can successfully (it seems) retrieve and save thier profiles to the samba box; however, if I log off a user, say "gary", from one workstation, and travel to the next one, and log in

Is there a way to get Windows to do an orderly shutdown (eg simulate a power button press) using the ''xm shutdown'' command? Thanks James _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users
