Fedora Core 3 or Fedora Core 4? yum update o r not? also: SpanDSP -pre25 for 1.0.9 is out w00t!
Word. I'm doing a dupe of my production server this week as a CYA. Guess
what: FC2. Once I yum update to the current kernel, no more yum. There's no
reason to. You may have your own reasons (publicly avaliable server, for
example) but why add uncertainty to an, at best, quite uncertain process
(that of creating a stable Asterisk install given random hardware, network
conditions, PSTN

Form within table?
Ok, I figured out my problem (kind of) from "Help a n00b?"
The problem was that (at least in Firefox) you can''t have a form
within a table, it has to be the other way around. Once I put the
form on the outside everything started to work.

recommendable softphones / X-Lite / Zoiper for amd64?
Hi,
I am on amd64 Linux and not really too happy with twinkle, linphone
and ekiga. Unfortunately, X-Lite and Zoiper, even though they
provide Linux versions (w00t!) have only x86 versions for download.
Do you guys know of amd64 versions of those, or can you recommend
other softphones that will run on amd64, or which come with source
code?
Thanks,

Defaulting WineCFG
So this is really annoying... I set Wine to use a virtual desktop (@ 640x480) and then when I went to set it back I can no longer see the apply/ok buttons in the winecfg to change it back to anything else... is there a terminal command to A. Default WineCFG or B. Disable using a virtual desktop?

Changing default date format in Rails
I''ve spent all day digging through the rails api and postgres-pr on
this, I think it''s time to ask the list.
Postgres stores a Date in YYYY-MM-DD format. My users want the dates
in MM/DD/YYYY format.
Sure, I could explicitly convert it on the app level every place where
a date is displayed, but that seemed like a DRY violation.
I thought I''d be clever and simply

Schema version 87 and windows Hello
Hi all,
I would like to set up windows Hello (in the sense user and management
are pressuring me) but for both option the schema would need to be at
least 87 (windows 2016). I looked on the roadmap, bugzilla but couldn't
find anything regarding this topic. Would you know when this version
would be available and what is needed in order to achieve so?
As a separate question, do you know good

OT: Hottie ?!?
Anyone know who that good looking female is thats on the Digium.com
website ?
Ok, my Real question is I noticed that Digium has relesed a new T1 card
with an echo canceller. I also noticed that its supports E&M Circuits. Im
I have very little knowledge on T1 circuits and traditional PBX's so what
Im asking is can I use Digiums T1 card to connect to another PBX via a tie
line ? Or does

Mailing list playing catch up with anyone else?
Last night it seemed like the mailing list was playing catchup, as I got a
flood of emails from the past few days. Has anyone else seen this?

Windows logon doesn't work, Samba says it's fine
...trating problem.
I try to logon to my Samba 3.0.11 PDC running on SuSE, and the Samba
logs report that it all went swimmingly:
[2005/06/02 16:34:45, 2] auth/auth.c:check_ntlm_password(305)
check_ntlm_password: authentication for user [stpierre] ->
[stpierre] -> [stpierre] succeeded
So w00t, right. But no! Windows rejects my login with a "bad
password" error. The strange thing is that I can mount volumes from
that server without a problem -- it's only domain logons that are
broken.
Googling didn't turn up much, but it seemed in general to be a problem
with mismat...

file serving speed in REST
This is all ridiculously preliminary, but it''s late, I''m tired, and I
think this kinda kicks ass.
I''ve just committed what I think is the (finally!) conversion of file
serving to REST from xmlrpc. I took the time to refactor how
recursion works, and that probably has had a bigger effect on speed
than the REST change, at least for larger directories and smaller
