The rsync daemon as a gateway service?
In rsyncd.conf I'd like to be able to specify something like: [module1] gateway 10.168.172.9 or (I think we have to change the protocol a little for this one): [module2] redirect datasource.my.domain I've run into this need a few times, and I think it might be useful enough to add (both of these) to the daemon configuration. I'm asking the list to see if either of these might

Your message Re: Samba and printer comments (July 5 1999)
Yes unfortunately I do not have much luck recieving help from the SAMBA mailing list. After much playing I found something weird that was seemingly causing incorrect comments. Most printers would recieve the comment - "no entries" which originally I assumed to be the default comment given by Win95 when it could not get a proper comment. However I later found that this is not the case.

Two "pre-migration" questions
I have read the migration docs. They seem to relate to migrating from one imap product to dovecot on the same server. I'm interested in migrating my Maildir-formatted email from one server to another. 1. Can I tar my ~/mail directory on serverX.com, untar it on a different physical serverY.com (initially with a different domain name), and still see my mail when I access imap.serverY.com

[HH] changing font size in interaction2wt
Hi, I would like to change font sizes (more generally the cex) in plots produced by the function "interaction2wt" of the "HH" package. Here is an example (from the interaction2wt example) of what I have tried: --8<---------------cut here---------------start------------->8--- rm(list = ls(all = TRUE)) rm(list = c(ls())) library("HH") ## From the example:

Where are 2 letter language values defined?
I've googled for way too long, where are the 2 letter language values defined? I know: en = English es = Spanish fr = French but what about Croatian, Russian, Serbian, Vulcan, etc? Is there a list documented for Asterisk or is it "just use the 2 letter country code Internet TLD?" Thanks in advance, ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Steve

Samba + LDAP PDC on Gentoo
Has anyone got this setup running? Can you point me to a HOWTO? I'm stuck with a problem in "smbldap_tools.pm" when I do any kind of basic thing. I keep getting this error: ============================================================================ == vulcan root # smbldap-usershow.pl Administrator Can't call method "search" on an undefined value at

Never used wine
I read (some) docs got my CD set to r: with unhide set and ran setup on a couple of CD's and it went well... Wacko? If there is a file that errors are written to I could check that. But the screens kind of went in to a "Vulcan mind meld" so it was hard to tell what was going on. But It didn't crash the machine, I'm using Fedora 2. Is there an installer I should be using

Samba + LDAP PDC on Gentoo - UPDATE
I've been able to get PAM/NSS/LDAP working properly - silly typo. Still failing on the smbldap-tools use though. :( Kevin > > Has anyone got this setup running? Crash in sieve_extprogram_create() after dovecot/pigeonhole update
Hi all. My dovecot setup: pf at vulcan:~ ? dovecot --version 2.3.0 (c8b89eb) on Arch Linux, x86_64 (full config here: [0]) uses sieve plugin to train rspamd system as described in the wiki [1]. It used to work fine prior to 2.3.0/0.5.0 update, but now "imap" process crashes when I move spam letters from the inbox to the junk folder. I've recompiled both dovecot and pigeonhole

winbindd
hi all, as i heard, i need winbind to connect linux-clients on samba. i installed this - without pam (in the hope this would work...) but this constellation seems to be needed, as i still cannot connect, even if winbind logs my domain as accepted. Do i really have to do the pam-configuration on the samba-server-side too?? i just thought, it was enough to authentificate against smbpasswd. is

Building R with Cairo
All- I have been hacking on an R 2.15 build on an Ubuntu 10.4 box, and I do not know how to debug R's error message regarding cairo "working". Configuration completes without the expected additional capability (cairo) R is now configured for x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu > Source directory: . > Installation directory: /app/vendor/R > C compiler:

Bug#392109: bug in xen-utils
Package: xen-utils-3.0.2-1 Version: 3.0.2-3+hg9762-1 Hi, while trying to get xen work, I encountered two problems: 1. I don't know if its really an error, but I think something is messed up with the subdir-name /usr/lib/xen-3.0.2-1 because the version-number of the package suggests that it is an other version, than the subdir says. Every time when I call xm for example I get: WARING!

Brain-dead Grandstream BT102?
Following a(n apparently) failed attempt to upgrade a BT102, the phone is now brain-dead. Although it still has enough smarts to get a dhcp address and try to download the firmware and config, it never gets past the blue screen, nor will it respond to pings or port 80. Short of sending it back to Grandstream, is there any way to recover the phone? TIA Bruce Komito High Sierra Networks, Inc.
