captive Portal Pfsense + FreeRadius + MySQL DBMS
Dear Friends Greetings, i have a question for you, i am sure someone can help. The pfsense captive portal is up and running. Time countdown vouchers are working without issue, such as 30m, 45m, 1h & so on. However, I'd like to set up a download quota of 200MB per voucher. but then you need to login with a username and password, instead of vouchers. but I haven't found a way to generate username & password when generating vouch...

...and considered support as well, anyways. After started using the solution, we released that is not reliable AT ALL. Almost everyday appliance has problems. sometimes it does not issue ip address (DHCP) to hotspot client, if that happens, it does not redirect to portal page so that a user can fill voucher number and start browsing. in short, everyday this & that. As said, we have purchased the commercial support as well but support guys take several hours sometime whole weekend to troubleshoot the problem. in result our customers are down. we have refund and call for apologies for the service in...

php and mime type
Hi list, I'm hoping to find a way via php, preferably without using exec() or system(), to reliably identify an ogg vorbis file via php. Using $fi = new finfo(FILEINFO_MIME); $mime_type = $fi->buffer(file_get_contents($upload)); results in 'application/ogg' My site accepts vouchers for herpetology records, but only image and audio. I do not wish to support video vouchers, but if an Ogg Theora file is uploaded, it also produces the mime type 'application/ogg' when looked at with finfo class. I need a way to distinguish ogg/vorbis from other types of ogg files, an...

...to be but are no longer found. When we see what appears to be shrinking range, we can investigate and if need be, request surveys by wildlife management before it is too late. Basically - the data will be plotted as a grid of regular hexagons. When locality information (museum record or photo voucher record in our own database) exists, the hexagon the record sits in gets drawn a pretty color (depending on type and age of records). I have it working on a raster (jpg) map where I guessed the latitude/longitude borders - working well enough with sample data that I know my php code works, but...

keystroke speed issue
..., while the same App in WIndows is pretty fast on keyboard? This is specifically visible for Menu selection using keyboard short cuts. The users normally use a series of key inputs to go fast into the submenus. Say like 'A L V' are keyed in sequentially to goto Accounts->Ledgers->Vouchers. Herein comes the delay of about 2 seconds for 'A' to get selected and then so on, driving the user up the wall. The other parts excluding the menu shortcut selections are almost as fast as in WIndows. Could it be due to the X server ,which might be slow on keyboard? Using 'i810...

lmhosts questions (answered?)
First, thanks for all the replies to my plaintive cries for help; some of this gets a little frustrating when you're trying to do it from the seat of one's pants (as it were). Also, a big thanks to the samba team members (one of these days, I'll have to look into that pizza voucher thing...). I looked through all the docs, mail archives, etc, and the only references to the lmhosts file I found were with respect to the *client* lmhosts file. Call me an idiot (not uncommon :-), but it didn't occur to me that I needed an lmhosts file on the *server* side; I thought it...
