Having troubles saving a new model
My model is being created but isn''t saving. It''s like it skips straight past saving. Any ideas why it might do this? Updating works fine. def create @volunteer = Volunteer.new(params[:volunteer]) @volunteer.save redirect_to(volunteers_url) end And here''s what the console reads upon create: Processing VolunteersController#create (for 127.0.0.1 at

Too many columns for list.rhtml to display on one page
I''ve gone once through the Agile book and am now attempting my own rails app. I''ve created a table named ''volunteers'' with over 15 columns. The problem is the default list.rhtml that is created with the scaffold, shows all the columns. I only want to show 4 of them with the list view. Where would I start to only return a handfull of columns to the

[EuroLLVM] Hacker's Lab - Topics and Volunteers needed!
The hacker's lab will be organized similar to the one at the US 2016 meeting [0]. That means 1.5 hour sessions and theme tables in the different rooms. Each table (~10) will have a sign on it to represent a sub-project or area of LLVM. This will help newcomers and even active developers congregate together on specific topics. In addition to labeling tables, we are asking for volunteers to

...leases as well. LLVM.org doesn't explicitly name these "maintainers". I personally don't see a benefit because we don't want to force people to do release qualification when they might not be available. I think what we usually do is for the release manager to gather a group of volunteered. These are the folks who are responsible for qualification the targets of their interests on their preferred platform. > > Evan Group of volunteers sounds great! Ruby on Rails mailer
Today I made a first attempt to make use of ruby mailer. A volunteer fills out a form and the information is then sent to an administrator. I generated a mailer called notifier and added the following: class Notifier < ActionMailer::Base def volunteer_signup(volunteer, sent_at = Time.now) @subject = ''A new volunteer has signed up'' @body = { :title =>

A request for help managing wiki permissions
Long story short, the core team doesn't need to be in the business of micro-managing wiki permissions. We've not been that good at it during the best of times, and as the 6.6 build process is showing we've clearly let some stuff slip without following up on it appropriately here. What I'd propose is that 3-4 people who have been around the distribution a while (perhaps John

Booth volunteers needed for Grace Hopper Conference
Hello LLVM Developers! Last year, the LLVM Foundation sponsored a booth at the Grace Hopper Conference. I had 2 amazing volunteers from the community, David Blaikie and Anna Zaks, help me spread the word about LLVM, compilers, and open source. It was a great experience and we are hoping to repeat this at the upcoming 2018 Grace Hopper conference in Houston, TX on September 26-28. I’m looking

[LLVMdev] Release Notes: Volunteers needed
Has there been much thought of attempting to automate this process? I could imagine a fairly standard script that scrubbed a history for interesting tidbits. Of course a standard methodology for labeling types of commits would help this in the future. A very simple script could at least do unique word counts and throw out words that match a dictionary (like parts of speech, contributer names,

Insert to associated table question
Hello Friendly Gurus, I have a volunteers table and an hours tables. I''ve edited the respective models to have: "hours belongs_to :volunteer" and "volunteers has_many :hours". My problem is, I don''t know how to set the volunteer_id column in the hours table to the appropriate value so that hours will belong to volunteers. I''ve added the

bored? Become a Icecast volunteer
Good morning everyone! As some of you may already have noticed we made quite some progress during the last few weeks. Icecast got some major updates to internal parts. Visible to the outside are the new tags <role> and <event>. Those changes lead to need of updating documentation. Something we have been working on anyway. Beside documentation also testing is a topic getting more and

We haven't had a lot of volunteers step up in this area though. I don't much like the idea of doing a release with so many buildbots down... Ciao, Duncan.

[LLVMdev] Volunteers needed for LLVM Release Team
LLVMers, As LLVM grows and begins to support more targets and more frontends, its becoming a very large task to qualify a release. Therefore, I'm seeking a couple of active members of the community to volunteer to be a part of the LLVM release team (for 2.6+). This does not replace general user testing during the release process. Members of this LLVM Release Team will need to be very
