Having troubles saving a new model
My model is being created but isn''t saving. It''s like it skips straight
past saving. Any ideas why it might do this? Updating works fine.

@volunteer.save

end
And here''s what the console reads upon create:

Too many columns for list.rhtml to display on one page
I''ve gone once through the Agile book and am now attempting my own rails
app. I''ve created a table named ''volunteers'' with over 15 columns. The
problem is the default list.rhtml that is created with the scaffold,
shows all the columns. I only want to show 4 of them with the list
view.
Where would I start to only return a handfull of columns to the screen?
I think I do it in the view (list.rhtm...

Volunteers for Hackers Lab Needed!
All,
We need volunteers for the Hacker’s Lab at the upcoming 2017 LLVM Developers’ Meeting! The Hacker’s Lab is for small groups to form to discuss topics or work on problems. Please let me know ASAP if you will able to volunteer so I can add your topic to the online listing and make appropriate signs.

...]. That means 1.5 hour sessions and theme tables in the
different rooms. Each table (~10) will have a sign on it to represent a
sub-project or area of LLVM. This will help newcomers and even active
developers congregate together on specific topics.
In addition to labeling tables, we are asking for volunteers to
represent a sub-project or topic related to the meeting. These
volunteers should be knowledgeable about the sub-project/topic and able
to answer some basic questions or point people to the right developer to
talk to. If volunteers want to go a step further, they could prepare a
list of bugs...

thread. To properly qualify a target like ARM which are supported on
many different CPUs and platforms, we need a group of volunteers. This
is critical near release time for obvious reasons, but it's also welcome
between releases as well. LLVM.org doesn't explicitly name these
"maintainers". I personally don't see a benefit because we don't want to
force people to do release qualification when they m...

Ruby on Rails mailer
Today I made a first attempt to make use of ruby mailer. A volunteer
fills out a form and the information is then sent to an administrator.
I generated a mailer called notifier and added the following:
class Notifier < ActionMailer::Base
def volunteer_signup(volunteer, sent_at = Time.now)
@subject = ''A new volunteer has signed up''...

the best of times, and as the 6.6 build process is showing we've clearly
let some stuff slip without following up on it appropriately here.
What I'd propose is that 3-4 people who have been around the
distribution a while (perhaps John Dennison and some others) volunteer
to take over handling access to the wiki. This will be implemented as
soon as we have enough trusted people to make it happen.
If you're willing to participate and you're known to us, please
volunteer in this thread.

Booth volunteers needed for Grace Hopper Conference
Hello LLVM Developers!
Last year, the LLVM Foundation sponsored a booth at the Grace Hopper Conference. I had 2 amazing volunteers from the community, David Blaikie and Anna Zaks, help me spread the word about LLVM, compilers, and open source. It was a great experience and we are hoping to repeat this at the upcoming 2018 Grace Hopper conference in Houston, TX on September 26-28.
I’m looking for volunteers to help staff...

[LLVMdev] Nightly Tester Volunteers
Dear All,
I need one or more volunteers to try out their nightly testers with the
-usesvn option. We're not running on here at the University of Illinois
regularly, so if someone could try one of theirs out before tomorrow
9:00 am CDT, I'd be very appreciative.
Thanks.

bored? Become a Icecast volunteer
...d of updating documentation. Something we have
been working on anyway. Beside documentation also testing is a topic
getting more and more important to improve stability and performance.
As the current team can hardly handle all those in-time and that will
delay releases, so we are looking for some volunteers.
There are many tasks to do. Also no programming skills required! There
is something useful to do for _everyone_ who wants to help and any time
amount you want to spend!
If you are interested just reply to this mail or join us on IRC in
#icecast on Freenode.
Have a nice day!

Hello,
I am in need of moderators to help moderate each session. If you are interested, please respond to this mail and indicate which slot you can moderate.
Its a long shot as you would miss talks, but if anyone wants a break to do work or check email while also staffing the registration desk, please let me know if you can do it during any of the sessions below. Thanks!

[LLVMdev] Volunteers needed for LLVM Release Team
LLVMers,
As LLVM grows and begins to support more targets and more frontends, its
becoming a very large task to qualify a release. Therefore, I'm seeking a
couple of active members of the community to volunteer to be a part of the
LLVM release team (for 2.6+). This does not replace general user testing
during the release process.
Members of this LLVM Release Team will need to be very meticulous in
following instructions for release building and testing. They need to be
consistent, reliable, and ha...
