Two RJS visual effects will happen at the same time?
I was going to change the background of a div from white to red and then
from red back to white, so this is used in an RJS file:
page[:vote_score].visual_effect :highlight, :startcolor => ''#ffffff'',
:endcolor => ''#ffcccc''
page[:vote_score].visual_effect :highlight, :startcolor => ''#ffcccc'',

passing options for render :update
I''m having some issues trying to pass some options into render :update
in my controller:
render :update do |page|
page[''mybox''].visual_effect( :scale, 200, {:scaleContent => false})
end
this should just scale the box, and not the content, however, the
content scales.
I noticed that the following is produced:

update_page yields escaped code in callback
Hi All,
The subject pretty well describes what I am experiencing. This line in
an .rhtml template:
<%= link_to_remote menu_item.humanize,
{:update => ''section'',
:url =>{:controller => menu_item},
:complete => update_page do |page|
page.activate_tab("#{menu_item}_tab", ''menu_'')
page[''section''].hide

Page 129 of Agile Web Dev on Rails (or pg141 of pdf!)
Hi - another question, sorry....
I''m trying to get the highlighting effect to work on the current_item.
The page refreshes fine, and then I get an error as the highlighting
code is fired:
page[:current_item].visual_effect :highlight,
:startcolor => "#88ff88",
:endcolor => "#114411"
The error

<%= link_to_remote( "some link",
:update => "some_div",
:url =>{ :action => :someaction }) %>
OK, it has worked, but I have two questions here:

doing Selenium tests and :confirm inside a link_to_remote does not work
Hello there.
I have a problem doing Selenium tests.
When I try to test my delete method doesn''t prompt me the respective
alert which otherwise would appears before run the destroy method on
the controller.
Without Selenium the application prompt me as the regular way but
within Selenium things go badly.
Here is a part of my view:

Rewriting URLs - help needed
Hello -
I''m grappling with some tricky URL rewriting with Apache 2 and mod_rewrite,
and could use a hand.
Briefly:
URL for application is: www.servername.com/path/to/app/
There is no Alias directive; the application is in the directory
/www/content/path/to/app/ on the server file system.
The FastCGI dispatcher (dispatch.fcgi) lives at:
/www/fcgi-bin/path/to/app/dispatch.fcgi

RJS implementation question
Why is RJS so dependant on programatic creation of Javascript?
RHTML is a great implementation in that it puts HTML first, and Ruby
second. I would have thought RJS would be the same way: a .js with ERb
helpers for generating Javascript functions.
RJS putting Javascript second means:
- I have to learn a whole new set of commands to use Scriptaculous.
- Developers have to constantly chase the

[PATCH server] Update app to work with rails 2.3.2
Note that this does not fix gettext for app,
that will be done separately in another patch
as F10/F11 require different setups for that.
In the meantime gettext works if manually changed
in environment.rb to gettext_rails instead of
gettext/rails

Upgrade server to run on Rails 2.3.2/F11
Note that one of the 8 patches (#6) will be sent separately in reply
to this email, as some of the replaced lines are too long, so git
won't let me send the email. However, there is nothing wrong with
that patch, and it should be applied in the sequence listed below.
Note also that I assume this will be tested on a clean f11 install, rather
than an upgrade of an existing ovirt server
