Authentication Problems.
Hey-
I'm kinda new to Dovecot and I'm trying to do something and it seems
I've hit a wall. I put together a server with Fedora Core 2, Exim 4.34,
and Dovecot 0.99.10.6 and I need support mail for multiple domains so
this is how I have my virtual setup:
Virtual Aliases Files:
/var/virtualdomains/$domain/etc/aliases
Virtual Accounts Passwd File:
/var/virtualdomains/$domains/etc/passwd with the following layout:
user:passwd:uid:gid:Virtual
User:/var/virtualdomains/domain.com/mail/user:/dev/null
Virtual Mailboxes:
/var/virtualdomains/$domain/mail/$user
I got exim working without prob...

problems with authentication
Hi, I have some problems
I'm using fetchmail to get my mail from the server to
a local server, but the problem is that my user name
of the mail is "user at virtualdomain" and I can't make a
system user with "@" on centos.
So, I want to know how can I tell to dovecot the user
"user at virtualdomain" is associate to a sistem user
"user.virtualdoman". Or if any one knows another
solution.
Thanks
Paul

Live-Migration not possible: error: operation failed: guest CPU doesn't match specification
Hi,
i have atwo node HA-cluster with pacemaker, corosync, libvirt and KVM.
Recently i configured a new VirtualDomain which runs fine, but live Migration does not succeed.
This is the error:

Yes, it transient, really, we use pacemaker's VirtualDomain
http://www.linux-ha.org/wiki/VirtualDomain_(resource_agent)
pacemaker creates domain and destroys it.
As I can see from sources migration looks like:
virsh ${VIRSH_OPTIONS} migrate --live $migrate_opts $DOMAIN_NAME
$remoteuri $migrateuri &
Don't know which exact options it uses though....

snapshots with virsh in a pacemaker cluster
...problem:
When i issue a "virsh snapshot-create-as" libvirt needs the domain name as a parameter.
but libvirt does not know the domains any longer. When the guests are shutdown a "virsh list --all"
on both nodes does not show any domain.
A look in the respective resource agent VirtualDomain explains why:
The domain is started with virsh create:
"# The 'create' command guarantees that the domain will be
# undefined on shutdown, ...
OK: Now i could of course define all domains with a virsh define.
But then i have immediately the next problem. Now i'd create the snaps...

Connections Driver VirtualBox
...ood Morning!
My name is Cláudia, I'm trying to use the Connections to VirtualBox driver
from libvirt.org on Pacemaker to start a virtual machine created with the
VirtualBox hypervisor, so far I haven't been successful.
Could you send me a practical example of how to use the driver with the
VirtualDomain feature in Pacemaker? The examples I found only demonstrate
the use with Xen and Qemu.
Thanks,

maildir creation
Hi all,
this is my first post to the list and sorry for my english.
I have a mail server based on qmail+dovecot+ldap with virtualdomains and
maildir stored in /var/vmail/<DOMAIN>/<USERNAME>/Maildir.
When I create a user on LDAP I don't create maildir too.
So if I log-in with dovecot (143,110) I hope dovecot creates maildir for
users but this is not I get: maildir are not created...

...ic Sieve-script, global Sieve script is
# executed if set.
#global_script_path =
so you can set global_script_path and override it using a per user script.
It would be nice if the per user scripts could be optionally run after (or before maybe?) the global script.
Another nice thing would be per-virtualdomain sieve scripts, but I think this is much more difficult.
What do you think?

dovecot and vmailmgr
...).
This wrapper is not sufficient though. In fact, vmailmgr represents
user homes
like this:
$HOME_LOCUSER/users/virtual_username
this is ok with
default_mail_env = maildir:%h/users/%n
$HOME_LOCUSER depends on the domain part of the user's email. The
relation
is held in /var/qmail/control/virtualdomains .
However, on the local part (virtual_username) some rewriting is done
on the username, as
dots are replaced by ":".
So in the end j.doe at foo.com becomes "~mxfoocom/users/j:doe".
Now, var-expand does not support any rewriting. I patched it by
adding another
modifier, m_s...

Right way to do SAN-based shared storage?
I'm trying to set up SAN-based shared storage in KVM, key word being
"shared" across multiple KVM servers for a) live migration and b)
clustering purposes. But it's surprisingly sparsely documented. For
starters, what type of pool should I be using?

live migration and config
Hello!
After some mistakes yesterday we ( me and my colleague ) think that it
will be wise for libvirt to check config file existence on remote side
and through error if not,
before migrating, otherwise migration will fail and VM fs can be
damaged, because it is sort of remove of power plug...
We missed twice yesterday :-(
Could you tell me is there already such option or any plans to

Dovecot and LDAP - virtual hosting problem
...penldap as backend. Now the problem is that there is
one primary domain (example.com) and many other
virtual domains with different users. When user from primary domain
logs in, he is using username as
his username (without domain part) and when user from virtual domain
logs in, he uses username at virtualdomain as his username. I don't know
how to make dovecot-ldap.conf to authenticate both users from the same
ldap tree. My ldap tree is organized like:
ou=people,o=example.com,dc=acme
ou=people,o=somevirtdomain.cp,dc=acme
and so on... The only one thing that comes on my mind is something
like (defaul...
