Virbiage Phones - Vapourware??
Has anyone heard any more info about the Virbiage FT201 VoIP phones?
About 3 months ago I was told they were 6 weeks away, about 3 weeks ago I was told they were 2 weeks away, and now I am told they are 2 months away again! Are they EVER going to arrive? Can anyone shed some light on this?

Virbiage FT201 IAX Hard Phone
Does anyone have any recent news on the Virbiage FT201 IAX Hardphone?
I'd *really really* like to deploy these phones instead of SIP
hardphones, and I can't help but wonder if I'm going to shoot myself in
the foot (or another sensitive area) by deploying a ton of SIP phones
just to find the IAX Hardphones were released a week later.....

IAX FXS.. Any experience with...
http://www.x100p.com/products_2.htm
Anyone ever use this box? How's it compare with the Iaxy? I'd like to
buy one or the other.. The Iaxy is appealing because to me, it seems
less "no name", but this one says that it supports using hostnames,
whereas apparently the iaxy only supports IP addresses?? That's
appealing to the dynamic DNS guy in me! :-)

Firefly / LibIAX2
Hi
Does anybody know how to build the LibIAX2 from Virbiage? It has some nice features when
using Firefly (Messaging, Status Indication).
The source can be downloaded here: http://www.virbiage.com/3rdparty/. It does not contain
any directions how to compile.
Any hints?
Thanks!

Introducing Firefly
...The firefly softphone - free, runs under windows, allows connection to multiple networks, skinable interface, connection to firefly network, IAX2 protocol, (SIP in next release), codecs supported - iLBC, G.711 ulaw/alaw, GSM. - contact lists, selectable ringtones.
download from here - http://www.virbiage.com/firefly/
The firefly network - also free, runs on an enhanced version of IAX2 (simply uses IAX2 text messages for customised part), voicemail, text messaging, online presence, ability to indicate status (available, away, NA). I believe you can connect using a standard asterisk box but you'...

New Firefly version
As Promised, I've released a new version of Firefly (ver 1.8) with IAX &
SIP support back in.
Get it from Virbiage site or here's the direct link
http://www.virbiage.com/firefly/download/firefly-thirdparty.exe
If it crashes on startup, export your Firefly tree from the registry
(current user -> software -> firefly), then delete tree from your
registry. If that fixes it, send me your exported reg f...

Looking for a commercial version of an IAX2 Softphone
Hello All,
I have been looking for a commercial version of an IAX2 Softphone for
Windows but the ones I have came across (i.e. Iaxcomm, Iaxphone, Diax) do
not seem to have an updated version since April 2004 in some cases.
We looked at Firefly but we sent emails to Virbiage/Freshtel with questions
and could never get a response from them.
Has anyone got any recommendations for commercial version an IAX2 softphone
that we could test?
Thanks in Advance

Asterisk VS. Skype
This might have been talked about before, but I'm posting anyhow.
I've got down to testing Asterisk yesterday, and I couldn't help but
compare it with Skype (a Windoze only product, yet, but extremely
efficient for some reason).
Skype has almost unperceptible delay (LAN), while there is almost half a
second of delay regardless of the codec on Asterisk.
An even if we were to

Sayson IP Phones?
Have the Sayson IP phon started to deliver yet? I'm thinking about two
new phones for my office and considering the Sayson 480i and Zultys
4x4. Would also consider the Virbiage phone if it becomes available. I
have Snom 200s and a Pingtel phone at the moment.

There's a new firefly release out for those who are using firefly with
your lovely asterisk / SIP server.
http://www.virbiage.com/firefly/download/firefly-thirdparty.exe
the main changes are improved GUI fixes (mouse wheel works now :) ), few
url parsing fixes, mic volume control and improved compatibility with
SIP servers (namely SER).

Azatel Azacall 200 issue with asterisk
...ternet public asterisk box
, I just want to connect point A with point B
I have tried
canreinvite= yes / no
Nat=yes/no
Nat=1/0
commented canreinvite
commented Nat,
I have no audio with other azacall or to other sip device in the same asterisk.
Note: other devices like grandstream , siipura, Virbiage, and
xtenworks perfectly ,, just the issue is the azatel.
the very most important issue is that my long distance calling with a
service provider is working perfectly ,, just internal extension to
extension calling does not work at all.
anyone had this issue?
i am using firmware 1.5.6

nat and wandering phones
Hi all I'm looking for a solution to this problem.
*box--------internet-----------nat-----------softphone
We have potential customers who will be travelling the world with
laptops/pda's.
They need to be able to connect to the asterisk box via ip wherever they
are and will have no control over nat whatsoever.
I have read that STUN offers this service, but cannot picture in my mind

I can't seem to change the default registration for IAX clients:

Can this be controlled on a peer-by-peer basis?
Thanks,

IAX2 softphones keep ringing....
...ith FreePBX front end.
Have two users who use softphones on notebooks in the field. Problem is that
if the softphone receives a call, but the user is not available to pick it
up, Asterisk will send the call to voice mail as normal, but the softphone
will continue to ring......
I've tested the Virbiage and x-Lite softphones, same issue.
Is there an IAX setting in Asterisk that applies here?

No Sound (2nd post)
...o anyone who can help
I have two Asterisk boxes with identical hardware (Dev & Production). I
recently rebuilt the DEV box using Fedora Core 3 and the latest CVS Head.
The hardware is an Intel CA810e, onboard everything with a PIII processor.
The config is pure VOIP using IAX2 & ilBC with Virbiage Firefly soft
clients. I also use Ztdummy which seems to be working ok - no error
messages.
My problem Is that none of the sounds work, there is no sound for any of the
following features
1. Voicemail prompts
2. the menu macro in Dial
3. Music on hold
4. conversation

IAX voicemail notification
Hey list (again - annoying bastard I am)
I've played with Firefly/* for a while and I have yet to find a way to
have * send voicemail notification to Firefly. It appears possible using
SIP (no clue whether Firefly supports it) in the sip.conf file, but
there's no mention of anything voicemail-related in the IAX.conf file.
I'm using IAX with Firefly, so that might just be the

IAX2 Max Retries dropped calls Firefly
Hi
We've recently set up and are using with success 1.0.7 using a Junghanns
quadbri card to BRI ISDN, and Firefly with IAX2 protocol as softphones Works
very well, however we're getting cases where sometimes the call just drops.
>From setting more verbose modes we get a log which is shown below. The problem
seems to be the maxretries message which comes from chan_iax2. We are using
