Rails CHM Documentation - 1.1.6
Just a quick email to let those interested know that I''ve posted an
updated version of my CHM document that now has all the documentation
from the 1.1.6 release of Rails. You can read more about it here:
http://delynnberry.com/2006/10/16/rails-chm-documentation-version-1-1-6
I''m also planning on creating a pre-release version based on what is
currently available in Rails trunk.

no route to host between Mac samba and Linux samba
I have a mac running Mac OS X ans samba 2.2.5 which is provided by
Apple. The Linux server have samba 2.2.8 (the last one). Sometimes, in
the server logs, you have:
[2003/03/26 14:26:30, 0] lib/util_sock.c:read_data(436)
read_data: read failure for 4. Error = No route to host
in this case, the Macclient lost the samba connection and has to reboot

Ogg Vorbis QuickTime Component
Hi all,
I don't know if this is the place to ask about this, but I'm going to
try anyway. There is an ogg-vorbis plugin for iTunes on Mac OS X that
is downloadable from
http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/14259
or
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/mac/13012&mode=feedback
Unfortunately, this plug-in (a Quicktime component) crashes iTunes for
the latest version of Quicktime (7). Despite over a month's worth of
complaints about this (see the messages posted at the above web page),
the component still has not been updat...

SOX-- but is a ProTools GURU.
The SOX resampled files work on our asterisk box-- but I gotta put someone

on demand server
Hello,
I am trying to set up a stream server for audio archives.
I've just tried Icecast2 / Ices, and it is really good stuff,
but I cannot yet get what I want : streaming on demand.
I would like the user to just "click and stream" on the web page (and
not listen to a stream that is already running).
I don't know if it is possible with Icecast/Ices.
Any suggestions would be

Nat Traversal help!
Hello All,
I have a number of X-Lite users in countries where the incumbent Telco will
do anything to block VOIP traffic.
For some reason neither the X-Lite broadband or dialup clients would
register with my server unless we configure them to use the Xten Xtunnels
demo server. Once the Client has registered the call quality is great! The
problem is the Xtunnels does not support other IP Hard

OS for rails development: Windows vs. Mac?
Caveat: this is not a discussion about *hosting* a rails app on windows.
Anyway...Macs are everywhere you look when researching rails (demo vids,
tutorials, and pictures from rails training classes). I''m interested in
what the pros to using a Mac for rails development are (besides
textmate). Is it more of a cultural thing, a what would 37 signals do
thing, is it a unix thing, or
