UFS snapshot weirdness
Hi all, I've been making a wrapper script for the backup tool 'duplicity', allowing me to create config files for each resource, wherein I define whether a snapshot should be made prior to backing up the resource or not. Now I find that my snapshots never change .... The script creates a snapshot, creates md device, mounts it, runs backup against the mounted snapshot,

...implementation (possibly using JNI for the communications, ref. the pkcs#11 library). Does anyone know of any such products that have any sort of FreeBSD support at all? Update on protection against slowloris

Thanks for your feedback, Martin

virtio scsi host draft specification, v3

The virtio SCSI host is the basis of an alternative storage stack for KVM. This stack would overcome several limitations of the current solution, virtio-blk: 1) scalability limitations: virtio-blk-over-PCI puts a strong upper limit on

Upgrading to 7.0 - stupid requirements
In http://www.freebsd.org/releases/7.0R/announce.html says Updating Existing Systems > An upgrade of any existing system to FreeBSD 7.0-RELEASE constitutes > a major version upgrade, so no matter which method you use to update > an older system you should reinstall any ports you have installed on > the machine. This will avoid binaries becoming linked to inconsistent > sets
