This problem could be solved by making dovecot take into account the IP address the user connects to and authenticate against the proper {database, table, pw-file, [...]} based on that. Performance with 200k messages in Maildir
...be useless/crawling, usable or pretty fast. I imagine MUA startup / first time folder read would be slow, but daily use more or less ok. Using libvirt with a preexisting network infrastructure
