Trouble retrieving the second largest value from each row of a data.frame
...I am using and a truncated data.frame. Retrieving the largest value was easy, but I have been getting errors every way I have tried to retrieve the second largest value. I have not even tried to retrieve the labels for the value yet.
Any help would be appreciated

manipulating text to generate different formulas to use in nls()
...ing number
of sinusoids, I would like to "autogenerate" the arguments needed by nls() depending on that
number.
For example, when there are two sinusoids:
> nls( y ~ mu + A1 * cos(2*pi*f1*x - P1) + A2 * cos(2*pi*f2*x - P2), data = some.xy.data,
start = list( mu=some.value0, A1=some.value1, P1=some.value2, A2=some.value3,
P2=some.value4, f1=some.value5, f2=some.value6 ) )
Adding a third sinusoid, the model and the starting parameters needed become:
> nls( y ~ mu + A1 * cos(2*pi*f1*x - P1) + A2 * cos(2*pi*f2*x - P2) + A3 * cos(2*pi*f3...

codebook
Hi all,
<p>I have read the the source code about codebook generation, but there are
some puzzles:
Where can I get a latticebuild description file?
How does one choose reasonable value0..value n on the second line of the
latticebuild description file(.ql) to latticebuild?
Does the output (xxx.vqi) of the resvqtrain have some relationships to the
latticebuild description file ?
Where can I get these information?
Thank you!

.vqd example?
...file .vqd-file
ohoh tha name had to be precisely latticetune (or restune?)
ok I tried restune to read multiple cols. from lsp0coeff_0.vqd
still not a big difference. Tried changing values in my .vql
file. This made some difference. but I can't figure it out.
How does one choose reasonable value0..valuen on the second input
line to latticebuild? I would have thought that the lspvqtrain
output (xxx.vqi) had this info in some ready-to-use fashion.
Thanks, Erik.

Visual Studio .NET
Hi`
we recently switched to using Visual Studio .NET and now I get a crash
inside Ogg Vorbis unless I recompile Ogg Vorbis itself with Visual Studio
.NET. Are there any known issues like that? If possible I'd like to use the
official binaries.
