Kaplan Meier analysis: 95% CI wider in R than in SAS
Hello All, ? Am replicating in R an analysis I did earlier using SAS. See this as a test of whether I'm ready to start using R in my day-to-day work. ? Just finished replicating a Kaplan Meier analysis. Everything seems to work out fine except for one thing. The 95% CI around my estimate for the median is substantially larger in R than in SAS. For example, in SAS I have a median of 3.29 with a

And the same with "PRRS-pos VAC" or "Vac" presented by a 1 in the colum PRRS-VAC, and "PRRS-pos DK" or "DK" presented by a 1 in the colum PRRS-DK. And also with "sanVAC" there should be a 1 in the colum VACsan, and...

...ugh I can see that both factors have different effects on the data DEPENDING on what the value of the other factor is. I explain this all to my colleague - and she asks "but which ones are different?" This is best illustrated with an example. We have either infected | uninfected, and vaccinated | unvaccinated (the two factors). We're measuring expression of a gene. Graphically, in the infected group, vaccination makes expression go up. In the uninfected group, vaccination makes expression go down. In both the vaccinated and unvaccinated groups, infection makes expression go...

Re: [Nemo-devel] nuts status page
...e THREE voltages displayed, all around 480v. Nut developers: I am copying the NUT mailing list to see if anyone can suggest how to fix this. NUT developers, see the following page to see the problem: http://nemo.phys.uwm.edu/cgi-bin/upsstats.cgi . Instead of displaying a single voltage of 276 VAC we should see three voltages of around 480 VAC. Well, I have been busy, and it is time to force move dovecot forward. Being 'lazy' I am doing some initial tests on my POWER platform using an old debian distro to build the latest (via git). I use Mac. I installed R with the download from R-project, so R is in /usr/bin/R. My TclTk library is installed via fink (although I don't remember I intentionally installed it) so libtk8.4.dylib is in /sw/lib. I tried to install the HDF5 package from within R: >install.packages('hdf5') and it failed like this ------- Loading Tcl/Tk interface ... Error in dyn.load(x,

building in AIXV5.3 using the IBM C for AIX compiler V6.0
...assword (modules) Right now, I'm just shooting (sorry, Mr. Cheney) for a clean compile...I'll leave such niceties as finding the OpenSSL binaries (which IBM, in its wisdom, puts in special places), doing a multiproccesor-enabled compile, etc. for later. Onward! I have defined CC= /usr/vac/bin/cc. But alas, the party just doesn't happen. There's much like this: "/usr/include/sys/types.h", line 136.25: 1506-115 (E) Duplicate type specifier "unsigned" ignored. "/usr/include/sys/types.h", line 136.1: 1506-137 (E) Declaration must declare at least...

[Bug 1753] Use -funroll-loops with umac.c
...---------------------------------- CC| |aixtools at gmail.com --- Comment #3 from Michael Felt <aixtools at gmail.com> --- As far as POWER goes (more specifically, AIX and xlc) there is a PDF describing the optimization 'process' when using vac/xlc as a compiler. The document # for VAC-v11 is SC27-2478-00 (or higher for the last two digits - the revision number). Here is a starting point for documentation: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSGH2K_11.1.0/com.ibm.xlc111.aix.doc/conventions/compiler_pubs.html On page (printed)...
