VAAPI on GeForce GT 620M
Hi,
If I am reading the featurematrix

supported for nouveau on the GeForce650M (my card).

Well you've got a point there. It's just that the dang nvidia is pretty
much sitting there on its hiney doing nothing (the mediaserver is running
headless), while the CPU block is doing all the heavy lifting (I'm running

My guess, without reading any code, is that DRI_PRIME isn't doing what
you want it to, and the nouveau driver is being handed an intel
device. This does not work well. Fixing this will require tracing

VAAPI on GeForce GT 620M
Hi,
Try: DRI_PRIME=1 LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=nouveau vainfo --display drm --device
/dev/dri/renderD129
Also try with and without the --device option, the important one is
--display drm
Cheers

C6 Firefox 45.1 segmentation faults
Ok, managed to rebuild most the stuff; had to retire gstreamer-vaapi though.
yum --enablerepo=nux-dextop-testing update
Should fix the Firefox issue, let me know if it causes any problems or other requests.

Alternate gstreamer1 for CentOS 8
Hi All - is there an alternate gstreamer1 for CentOS 8 ?
Two reasons why I need it.
1) OpenH264 support
2) VAAPI support
Both don;t seem present.
Thanks

I've read through jb17bsome's notes on XvMC and I think all the work
he's done so far is a great head's up on what's involved. I've also
read through the VAAPI page and I think that would also be a great
feature to try and support given all the non-MPEG2 video content out
there, it would probably entice even more people to use nouveau.
The only thing I'm concerned about at this point is that the only
Nvidia hardware I currently have is a GeForce FX G...
