File system passthrough using v9fs?
Hi, I need to deploy a bunch of VMs, that need data from NFS shares residing on a network I don''t trust my VMs to connect to directly. What would it take for me to mount the shares on the hosts, and export them to my VMs using v9fs, for instance? In practice, only one of my VMs will access a portion of the NFS at a time, and the host won''t touch it at all, so I''m pretty confident that the VMs'' VFS caching and locking won''t be an issue. I understand that KVM can do v9fs exports using virti...

How to change virtfs/9p/v9fs umask
Hi there. My question is regarding virtfs/9p/v9fs [1], not sure what's the appropiate name :) Basically I have a KVM + libvirt server sharing a directory with a guest in mapped mode. It works fine, but the only issue is with the file permissions of the files created by the guest inside the host: -They are 0700 for dirs and 0400 for files -T...

Newbie questions -- is OCFS2 what I even want?
Dear Sirs and Madams, I run a small visual effects production company, Hammerhead Productions. We'd like to have an easily extensible inexpensive relatively high-performance storage network using open-source components. I was hoping that OCFS2 would be that system. I have a half-dozen 2 TB fileservers I'd like the rest of the network to see as a single 12 TB disk, with the aggregate

GeForce(R) GT 710 1GB PCIE x 1 on arm64
Hi to all. I'm experimenting with running a https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/geforce%C2%AE-gt-710-1gb-pcie-x-1 card on an Nvidia Jetson TX2 arm64 device. Possible? Linux kernel aarch64 5.6.10. Because Nvidia did not list drivers for this architecture, I'm experimenting with a nouveau driver. The Jetson TX2 has a default driver for the host1x framebuffer for output from the

[PATCH 00/12] block/bio, fs: convert put_page() to put_user_page*()
From: John Hubbard <jhubbard at nvidia.com> Hi, This is mostly Jerome's work, converting the block/bio and related areas to call put_user_page*() instead of put_page(). Because I've changed Jerome's patches, in some cases significantly, I'd like to get his feedback before we actually leave him listed as the author (he might want to disown some or all of these). [patch 00/43] lguest: Patches for 2.6.24 (and patchbomb test)
Hi all, These are the patches I'm planning to submit for 2.6.24. Comments gratefully accepted. Along with the usual cleanups and improvements are Jes' de-i386-ification patches, and a new "virtio" mechanism designed to be shared with KVM (and hopefully other hypervisors). Cheers, Rusty.
