read.table and variable length of tables
Hi,
I am trying to read in weather balloon data, where each file has a header of fixed length and
a trailing section of a fixed length. The data section (the table) is of variable length.
An example of the data is on:
http://weather.uwyo.edu/cgi-bin/sounding?region=naconf&TYPE=TEXT%3ALIST&YEAR=2011&MONTH=06&FROM=1400&TO=1400&STNM=04018
This data has 97 rows and can be read as:
read.table("http://weather.uwyo.edu/cgi-bin/sounding?region=naconf&TYPE=TEXT%3ALIST&YEAR=2011&MONTH=06&FROM=140...

Question about package installation
...re anyway to make the installation permanent? I want to run R through a 3rd party data management software and since the installation is not permanent it can't do the analysis through the third party software. Thanks.

Is there a way to align the "14C" portion of the expression with the top

Reading Wyoming radiosonde data files with RadioSonde package
Hi,
I need to do some analysis on historic daily radiosonde data I download
from the Wyoming Univ. web page (
http://weather.uwyo.edu/upperair/sounding.html).
I am trying to use the RadioSonde package (V 1.3), but the format of the
files from Wyoming don't match what RadioSonde is expecting.
Has anyone used the Radiosonde package on the Wyoming data?
Here is a sample of the Wyoming file format:

fisher.test - can I use non-integer expected values?
I seem to be able to use expected values that are decimal (e.g., 1.33) when
using chisq.test but not when using fisher.test. This happens when using an
array/matrix as input. Fisher.test returns: Error in sprintf(gettext(fmt,
domain = domain), ...) : invalid format '%d'; use format %s for character
objects.
Thus, it appears fisher.test is looking for integers only.

Trend.spatial function in geoR
I am having difficulty getting the trend.spatial function in geoR to
work properly. After creating a trend.spatial object with a covariate,
I try to add the command into my likfit() function as follows:
trend1.trend.spatial <- trend.spatial("1st", trend1.geodata)
trend1.spatial.EC0.1.reml <- likfit(spatial.geodata,
trend1.trend.spatial, ini.cov.pars = spatial.EC0.1.eyefit,
