Re: [Nemo-devel] nuts status page
...uts. So the displayed voltage is not correct -- in fact there
should really be THREE voltages displayed, all around 480v.
Nut developers: I am copying the NUT mailing list to see if anyone can
suggest how to fix this. NUT developers, see the following page to see
the problem: http://nemo.phys.uwm.edu/cgi-bin/upsstats.cgi . Instead of
displaying a single voltage of 276 VAC we should see three voltages of
around 480 VAC.

Version: 3.0.2p1
Platform: Sparc

Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P2
Component: sshd
AssignedTo: openssh-unix-dev at mindrot.org

I have a DSL line at home, and want to use X11 forwarding to run X clients on a
machine at work.
The X11 forwarding works fine when the home laptop is connected directly to the
DSL modem.
However I use a router at home so that I can connect several machin...

Not sure how to do this in zfs
Hello all,
I''ve tried changing all kinds of attributes for the zfs''s, but I can''t
seem to find the right configuration.
So I''m trying to move some zfs''s under another, it looks like this:
/pool/joe_user move to /pool/homes/joe_user
I know I can do this with zfs rename, and everything is fine. The problem
I''m having is, when I mount

help about solving two equations
I have two matrix s1 and s2, each of them is 1000*1.
and I have two equations:
digamma(p)-digamma(p+q)=s1,
digamma(q)-digamma(p+q)=s2,
and I want to sovle these two equations to get the value of x and y, which are also two 1000*1 matrices.
I write a program like this:
f <- function(x) {
p<- x[1]; q <- x[2];
((digamma(p)-digamma(p+q)-s1[2,]) )^2 +((digamma(q)-digamma(p+q)-s2[2,]) )^2

pulling out 1 country and 1 wave
Hello.
I am trying to pull out one country from a time series of 5 waves. For example I need Norway from the 5th wave. This is new to me. Typically, I work with country specific surveys.
data = norway
I have attached a .tiff of the codebook showing the variable names for Norway and the wave. They appear to be Norway = v218 and wave = v15. But perhaps I am wrong and this is part of the

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to make this work consistently?

question about ... questions/ code
Hello,
I have a dataset which I am calling RB09.
I am trying to match the questions in the code book with variable codes.
It is not very intuitive.
example:
names(RB09)
[1] "ea1" "eaf1" "eaf1a" "eaf2" "eaf2_7"
[6] "eaf3" "eafimpun" "eafunpun" "evimpmar"

Problem with clipping in Lattice, and closing a postscript device
I would appreciate any answer to the following two problems I am having with
the Lattice package.
First, in most instances of using Lattice, the produced graphs have some
clipping, usually at the borders of the encompassing rectangles. An example
of this is here: http://cs.uwm.edu/~vu/lattice.pdf where the clipping occurs
in the first half of the X axis.
Second, when printing to a postscript file, for example, using the command
trellis.device(postscript, file = "test.ps", color = TRUE)
to initialize the output file and then the command
dotplot(y ~ x | z, ....

I believe that this is "failing closed" but have yet to find an intuitive
definition - "closed" to traffic going through or (the opposite of an "open"
circuit) a "closed" circuit which would allow traffic?

Limit distribution of continuous-time Markov process
I have (below) an attempt at an R script to find the limit distribution
of
a continuous-time Markov process, using the formulae outlined at
http://www.uwm.edu/~ziyu/ctc.pdf, page 5.
First, is there a better exposition of a practical algorithm for doing
this? I have not found an R package that does this specifically, nor
anything on the web.
Second, the script below will give the right answer, _if_ I "normalize"
the rate matrix, so that...

Matlab inv() and R solve() differences
I submit the following matrix to both MATLAB and R
x= 0.133 0.254 -0.214 0.116
0.254 0.623 -0.674 0.139
-0.214 -0.674 0.910 0.011
0.116 0.139 0.011 0.180
MATLAB's inv(x) provides the following
137.21 -50.68 -4.70 -46.42
-120.71 27.28 -8.94 62.19
-58.15 6.93 -7.89 36.94
8.35 11.17 10.42 -14.82
R's solve(x) provides:
