windows env variable for USERDOMAIN is wrong
Hi all, I just setup my Samba PDC. Mostly everything works, but I am wondering why on some clients, they have the wrong USERDOMAIN environment variable. (when you run 'set' in win xp cmd) The domain name is MEIDLING, and the user and computer are joined ok. But in set, it shows USERDOMAIN as the Server name. Which is MAIN. How do I change that? Thanks in advance. -- Greg Fischer

Doveadm quota recalc sets quota for wrong quota root
Hi, In our setup, we use two quota roots. One for user quota and one for domain quota. If a user has no quota, then the domain quota is applied. For a user with user quota this is how it looks: # doveadm quota get -u test at shellz.nl Quota name Type Value Limit % Domain quota STORAGE 1439155 2560000 56 Domain quota MESSAGE 21257 - 0 User quota STORAGE 0 102400 0

explorer.exe: no mapping between names and security ids was done
... I just want to put this somewhere easily searchable based on the users error message. Upgrading a domain controller to Debian 8 (samba 3 to 4) resulted in the message "no mapping between names and security ids was done" at times. The message appears on the windows 7 domain pcs when running explorer.exe. Also other basic things did not work: internet explorer, or mapping between

Fatal Error: Invalid HOMEDRIVE
All, I've encountered the same problem as others who have posted under the same subject. I've had R-1.8.1 installed and running since it was released. Yesterday morning when I tried to start Rgui.exe I got the subject error message. Since I live at the whim of the network administrators I can only assume it was a recent MS critical update. I tried installing R-1.9.0 but no joy. I

Error with 1.9.0 - Invalid HOMEDRIVE
I installed R project 1.9.0 on Windows XP. The installation went well. Then, I rebooted. Next, I clicked the icon under Programs in the Start menu and received this error, "Fatal Error: Invalid HOMEDRIVE". I clicked OK to the error message. The program does not start. I went to a DOS prompt and did "echo %HOMEDRIVE%" and it returned "C:". This letter is a valid

design question for small environment
If you make sure the loginnames and password as the same on both domains. Then its just. net use k: \\FQDN\SHARE /user:DOM1\%username% net use l: \\FQDN\SHARE /user:DOM2\%username% At least that is what i do here. You can do more, open CMD box, run type: set You an use all these variables. net use m: \\FQDN\SHARE /user:%USERDOMAIN%\%username% Or net use n: \\FQDN\SHARE
