windows env variable for USERDOMAIN is wrong
Hi all, I just setup my Samba PDC. Mostly everything works, but I am wondering why on some clients, they have the wrong USERDOMAIN environment variable. (when you run 'set' in win xp cmd) The domain name is MEIDLING, and the user and computer are joined ok. But in set, it shows USERDOMAIN as the Server name. Which is MAIN. How do I change that? Thanks in advance. -- Greg Fischer 1st Byte Solutions http://www.1stb...

explorer.exe: no mapping between names and security ids was done
...mes. The message appears on the windows 7 domain pcs when running explorer.exe. Also other basic things did not work: internet explorer, or mapping between file types and extensions. But only at times. The problem is apparent when running set in a command on the affected windows pc. Look for the USERDOMAIN variable somewhere at the bottom of the list. It is not set to the real domain name. In my case it was the name of the server before it became a domain controller. I suspect the system was hanging together due to netbios names - eek. Mostly and for years running Debian 7, and samba 3 this was ac...

Fatal Error: Invalid HOMEDRIVE
All, I've encountered the same problem as others who have posted under the same subject. I've had R-1.8.1 installed and running since it was released. Yesterday morning when I tried to start Rgui.exe I got the subject error message. Since I live at the whim of the network administrators I can only assume it was a recent MS critical update. I tried installing R-1.9.0 but no joy. I

Error with 1.9.0 - Invalid HOMEDRIVE
I installed R project 1.9.0 on Windows XP. The installation went well. Then, I rebooted. Next, I clicked the icon under Programs in the Start menu and received this error, "Fatal Error: Invalid HOMEDRIVE". I clicked OK to the error message. The program does not start. I went to a DOS prompt and did "echo %HOMEDRIVE%" and it returned "C:". This letter is a valid
