4.4 on Dell D620: widescreenresolution?
Hi, Did anyone manage to get 4.4 working on a Dell D620 laptop? The thing has a 1440x900 LCD screen, but I don't get X the work with that resolution. (lspci: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03)) Google suggested to use '915resolution', which I installed (915resolution-0.5.2-1.el4.rf), but that doesn't help. R Graph Gallery : categorization of the graphs
Hello all, It seems that the next improvement to the R Graph Gallery is categorization of the graphics, that way each graph will be easier to find. That step should be done *carefully* if we want to avoid the opposite side-effect : graph not reachable through the categories. That's why the wisdom of the R community is required. Graphics will be classified in : - categories -

Samba + ldap issues
...g openldap and samba. We have been having issues with samba passwords expiring and I have tried several things to resolve the issues. The ldap server was setup using the smbldap-tools. When the password expires the only thing I have been able to do is to reset the password. I have tried the smbldap-usemod -B -1 &username to disable the SambaPwdMustChange. Also tried to set the SambaAcctFlags to UX. We set this ldap server up in hurry and did not have a chance to implement a proper password policy. This is using the stock version of Samba and LDAP that came with RHEL5. John Allgood Senior System...

Hosting a R Graph Gallery?
Dear R users, Following some of the recent questions and discussions about the R plotting abilities, it occurred to me again that it would be very valuable to have an R graph gallery. Eric Lecoutre made a very nice example in: http://www.stat.ucl.ac.be/ISpersonnel/lecoutre/stats/fichiers/_gallery.pdf It would be very useful to many beginners, but probably also advanced users of R, to have an

White Cube of Death - fglrx_7_1_0_SUSE103-8.452.1-1
Listmates (only posting to one list) Compiz has been running great with the 8.433 driver except for the libGL SONAME lockup on exit. see: https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=344135 I just built and installed the 8.452 driver. Compiz would not start with the normal fusion-icon approach that I have been using with the 8.433 driver. This is on my Toshiba P35 laptop with an ATI

Wikis for R
...several times. Also >>the wiki engine used by this wiki is very rudimentary. I think the >>DokuWiki engine, which is used by Philippe Grosjean is more promising as >>a workhorse for an 'official' R-wiki. > > > What Fernando says is mostly true. I installed the UseMod Wiki after talking to some of "us" as a test balloon. The engine was chosen according to simplistic installation and a "just-enough" feature set. Perhaps that was a wrong decision. I`m one of the believers in wikis, but mine over here did not fly. > > Probably this and an...

wxGrid Question
When operating with a wxGrid is there a way to get a reference to the TextCtrl field that is created when you start typing in a cell. Also is there a way to get mouse events to work with a wxGrid, so far I can''t get any of them to work. I had tried various combo''s of: @grid.evt_left_down(){ |event| puts "Left mouse is down"; } using evt_left_down, evt_left_up,

Creating a paravirtualized guest with Xen 3.4.1 and Centos 5.3 (64bit)
Hi, I have a set of 32bit HVM images running fine under Xen 3.2.1 and Xen 3.4.1. Due to performance issues with the fully virtualized setup, I would like to migrate one of those images to a paravirtualized image to compare the network performance. As I do not have a Xen-aware kernel for that VM, I thought the best would be to provide one from outside. Sounds like an easy task, doesn''t

OpenSuse 11 hvm domU: screen resolution up to 640x480
Hello, I''ve recently installed a hvm domU opensuse 11 guest and I cannot set the screen resolution higher then 640x480. This seems very strange to me, because I don''t have any problem to set higher resolution on a windows 7 domU, using the following parameters in the configuration file: stdvga=1 videoram=16 What could the problem be? Is some video driver missing? -- Flavio
