powercom upstype identify problem
...ct driver for my UPS. Could you tell me what output certain commands should have if everything is correct? I need some criterion so that I can know that I have finally found the correct driver for my UPS. The powercom driver is probably the correct driver, I think I just need to experiment with the upstypes. So it would be nice to tell me some quick commands for starting the driver with different upstypes from the command line. I will do all tests necessary to find out the correct driver and upstype configuration for my UPS, apart from letting the UPS go to the real status "LB". I do not da...

help creating custom genericups configuration - RNG only!
...iguration for the genericups driver. My system simply signals RI on a serial port on low battery. That's it, nothing else. This serial port is also being used for communications so the other lines are going to be changing all the time, unrelated to the UPS state. Is there a "null" upstype I can use, and then add LB=RNG? Or can I choose one of the other upstypes and clear or unset the conditions associated with the other serial port lines? I previously used genpowerd and configured it like this: ... UPSTYPE=robot UPSPORT=/dev/ttyS0 # type cablep kill t pow...

Problem with Beta Nut 2.6.4-1 For Windows
Hi All, I'm new to Nut and had been looking for a way of monitoring a small UPS we have just designed. We are using simple contact closure circuit, but I don't appear to be able to get the Genericups driver to work. I've followed the documentation and have decided to try the APC upstype = 1 If I type 'genericups -x upstype=1 /dev/ttys0' , I get an error: 'Fatal error: 'upstype' is not a valid variable name for this driver. Could anyone provide advice/help? Kind Regards Duncan -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:...

Belkin F6C1100-UNV
All, I just bought a Belkin F6C1100-UNV and am trying to get it to work with NUT. I have tried many drivers ( "belkin", "belkinunv", "genericups upstype=4", and "genericups upstype=7", "bestups", "fentonups"). None of them seem to work. Does anyone have any experience with this device? If there is some utility that you all use to gather data from the device... for building drivers... let me know. I'm more...

CyberPower 550SL reports LB and OB when on line power
I am using nut 2.2.2 and I have a CyberPower CP550SL. genericups CP custom config not working
It look to me that overwriting UPSTYPE CP signal or polarity in ups.conf have no effect. Looking at drivers/main.c source show that &upstab[upstype].line_norm is set to custom CP in initinfo() only _AFTER_ the serial signals are actually set by upsdrv_initups().

help creating custom genericups configuration - RNG only!
...s there an equivalent of ?---? in genericups? I think it's pretty much any value other than a valid signal name. The man page mentions "none" and "???" in various places. What about something like this? [robot] driver = genericups port = /dev/ttyS0 upstype = 9 CP = none SD = none OL = -RNG LB = RNG (The upstype setting is arbitrary in this case, as all of the settings get overridden.) -- Charles Lepple clepple at gmail

Working UPS report: Geek Squad GS-700U (Cyberpower clone?)
...(Linux kernel 2.6.13.4, gcc 3.4, *no* udev). The serial port I used was actually a Belkin F5U103 USB to Serial port adapter. I compiled nut against libusb 0.1.12. Using the serial cable connected to a serial port, I was able to get NUT monitoring it with the "genericups" driver with upstype=7 (CyberPower Power99). At lease, the On-Line / On Battery status works with this upstype setting - I haven't yet tested any of the other signals. The serial-USB thing is identified as 0764:0005 on the USB bus, which is supposed to be identified by usbhid-ups. However, when trying to use...

sweex 1000VA LB OB issue
...bundled with UPSmart v 2.12. I installed nut accordingly to the user manual included in the software. A quick check of data/drivers.list revealed to me i should use the: "Sweex" "500/1000" "contact closure - shipped with UPSmart" "genericups upstype=7" driver this driver loads just fine. I also checked the other sweex's drivers they won't load. However ups.status always returns LB OB. Its connected to mains and on a windows station the battery reports about 88% full. The manual : OL means your system is running on line pow...

Belkin F6H650 on USB port
Hi, is there a way to use my Belkin F6H650 on the USB port? I already installed usbhid-support, but neither the hidups worked (reports "/dev/usb/hiddev0 is not a UPS") nor genericups with upstype=7 and the hiddev set as device ("ioctl TIOCMSET: Invalid argument") worked. I have installed the debian sarge package of nut 2.0.1 (2.0.1-4) Regards, Philipp
