Question on weird output from a Compaq R3000
Hi All, I put my Compaq R3000 UPS on NUT. Every once in a while the battery alarm light turns on, on the front of the UPS. Maybe once every couple of days or so. When that happens I get the following output in /var/log/messages: Sep 22 01:51:46 mail upscode2[90734]: Unknown response to UPDS: .20 MOUL1 Sep 22 01:51:46 mail upscode2[90734]: Unknown response to UPDS: 0119.20 MOIL1 Sep 22 01:51:46 mail upscode2[90734]: Unknown response to UPDS: 0015.57 MOPL1 Sep 22 01:51:46 mail upscode2[90734]: Unknown response to UPDS: 0001.82 MOSL1 Sep 22 01:51:46 ma...

Logic problem in NUT with upscode2 driver
...ply a charge/float/topping voltage of 55.2 volts to the batteries. During that time the battery voltage measures 55.2 volts both with a voltmeter on the batteries and as reported by upsc, and the "calculated state of charge" of the UPS is 92.7% (keep in mind that UPSes that are driven by upscode2 are unable to report battery charge, so per the man page the upscode2 driver synthesizes that value based on nominal battery min/max and current battery voltage) Anyway, then the UPS shuts off the battery charger. The battery voltage then starts dropping gradually until the battery voltage h...

Timer doesn't appear to start
I have a Raspberry PI that I have connected to a Deltec UPS via serial (upscode2 driver). I had an older version of Rasbian running. The nut configuration worked fine but I had mail issues I couldn't resolve when gmail changed how it handled MTAs. Plus it was running an old version of Deb that is no longer supported. It was broken enough I could not upgrade to a never versi...

using upscode2 driver with Powerware 5119 RM
I've got a Powerware 5119 RM UPS. driver.list says to use "genericups upstype=20", however I know this UPS supports the UPS Code II protocol, so I wanted to use the upscode2 driver. It took some hacking but finally it works. I'm using NUT 2.4.1 and upscode2 driver version 0.87 (however the latest r2350 version of upscode2.c isn't significantly different, so I think all my results still apply). Here's the hardware: Apple G5 Xserve running Mac OS X Serve...

powerware plus 5xx / fiskars 9x00
Hi, just wanted to confirm that Fiskars UPS 9000 series (aka Powerware Plus 500 series) with optional UPS Information Unit works fine with upscode2 driver. Tested on Fiskars 9200 (20kVA/400V/3ph). RFC: new variable battery.status (was: [PATCH] upscode2: Report ABM Status)
...charging nor discharging) a complementary status should be discharging, when none of the above applies. For the time being, this only applies to Eaton manufactured UPSs. But I'd like to get feedback from owners of other devices, that support an equivalent technology. This data would apply to upscode2, bcmxcp*, usbhid-ups ("MGE" subdriver) and possibly snmp-ups. For now, I've tracked your patch here: https://alioth.debian.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=313541&group_id=30602&atid=411544 > http://www.google.de/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=advanced+battery+manageme...

failed after upgrade - upscode2: Missing UPCL after UPCL
Normally yes - enable and start the target and the particular services relevant to your setup. For the binary you have from packaging (if not rebuilt as suggested earlier), set debug_min=3 in ups.conf section for upscode2, to currently trade driver viability for some storage traffic with more logs :\ Sorry about that, Jim On Wed, Jul 5, 2023, 02:29 Karl Schmidt <karl at lrak.net> wrote: > Ok - I'm wondering is this is a systemd config bit? > > systemctl restart nut-driver at malaysia.service &g...
