Mongrel + RubyOnRails + FileUploads = Problems?
I really like the idea of using Mongrel. But reading the FAQ, I noticed
something that might be an issue. It stated:
"Ruby on Rails is not thread safe so there is a synchronized block
around the calls to Dispatcher.dispatch. This means that everything is
threaded right before and right after Rails runs. While Rails is running
there is only one controller in operation at a time."

Serve an image up from an action
What I am really trying to do is use the file_column plugin for the file
uplaod/storage (to a non-application directory), but serve up the images
on my own (without the mage_tag url_for_file_column technique)
In the java world, I would simply do something like this:
<img src="myImageServlet?id=1">
and myImageServlet would simply return the appropriate mime headers and

How to get absolute path
I am new for rails and web development, i am stucked at one point.
I am writing a code for uplaoding a file, using multipart=true in my
.rhtml file.
when requested parameter goes to my controller i need full physical path
of that particular file.
How could i achive this , any one have any idea about that. please reply
as soon as possiable.

Image uploading - upload_column
Hai
I am using upload_column for uploading images. Trying to do the user
registration. For the first time when the user tries to upload image it
works fine. But when try to update the image an error
undefined method `process!'' for #<UploadColumn::UploadedFile:0x6838424>
occurs.
in my view I set the :multipart=>true.

How does dropsend.com do this? I thought they are using ruby on rails
to allow people to send large files?
