Fedora developer list is asking about progress for MIT Kerberos 5 compatibility
...list about the experimental MIT Kerberos 5 compatibility for Samba. I'm staring at https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/MIT_Build , and the list of incompatibilities is daunting. Is anyone over here doing the compatibility work and can comment on progress? Or, perhaps, is this just fundamentally unworkable? The experimental version *builds* for Fedora 31, but I've not tested it.

Registry entries
Can anyone point me at a good doc on farting about with the registry? Or do you feel like giving me the fool's guide? I have large tracts of registry entries to stuff in, and adding them via Edit/new in regedit is an absolute PITA and unworkably slow. I have files from exported from a win98 registry (via windoze regedit) with the correct info. I need to add because programs are not finding installed packages. Samba 4 domain members
...mendations for this setup? I've tried to create one following this: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/Domain_Member Which seems to work ok until I try to change any permission on any shares (or anything within the shares). I then get "access denied" errors. Obviously, this is unworkable as a solution as I need to set permissions. Any help much appreciated. SVG showstopper
...y conflicts between the SVG xml object and parameters. For us, unless we can get SVG running okay under Rails, it is a showstopper for us to use Rails. There seem to be only 2 examples out there for SVG, the graph project that actually converts SVG to another image format (way too cumbersome/unworkable for our needs) and the pinkjuice example that requires a separate cgi file creation (again seemingly too complex for our dynamically generated SVG diagrams). Is there any help out there? Are we missing something or must we abandon Rails for now? Thanks for any help. -- Posted via http:/...

About booting Xen with UEFI on FastModel
Hi all, I noticed that upstream UEFI is now supported ARMv8 on FastModel. I’ve tried it to boot Linux with it. And it works. But it seems it still cannot load Xen hypervisor properly. I’m now looking for the reasons. Is there any difference for a firmware to load Xen and Linux kernel? Cheers, Baozi

[RFC] Removing autoconf from trunk
...gives sufficient time for users to migrate any remaining systems off autoconf. If this timeline doesn’t work for you, please speak up. There are still some problematic use cases for building the compiler-rt builtins. Specifically bootstrapping cross-compilers is fragile and in some cases entirely unworkable in CMake. To this end I’m not proposing a full removal of the compiler-rt makefiles at this time. What I would like to propose is that on February 2nd we remove autoconf support for all sanitizer runtimes from compiler-rt. We will not be removing the makefile build system from the test-suite p...

Node behind SonicWall Router
Recently the small business I work at replaced an aging linksys wrt style router with a SonicWall one. Ever since this change I have issues with this node falling back to TCP constantly. TCP for me ends up performing very sub-par, and most of the time unworkable. For some reason too the connection usually ends up being routed through another node. I created a new tinc instance using TAP (instead of TUN) between this work PC, and one other host. I then added an additional route command in tinc-up so the work node is aware of the other tinc network....

[LLVMdev] type-system-rewrite branch landing tomorrow
...if a function type depended on an incomplete type, the function type itself was made opaque, and subsequently resolved when the type(s) it depended on were completed. I haven't looked at the committed version closely, but the draft patches basically ripped out that code because the approach was unworkable. -Eli

Base and lattice graphics on the same graphics page
...ase graphics functions that are themselves inconsistent with par(fig=...) are obviously disallowed.] I am wondering whether there are caveats of which I and others should be aware, or whether there is a risk that the ongoing development of R's graphics abilities will render such a cohabitation unworkably fractious. Example: gph <- bwplot(voice.part ~ height, data=singer) print(gph, position=c(0, 0.5, 1, 1)) # x0, y0, x1, y1 par(fig=c(0, 1, 0,0.5), new=TRUE) # x0, x1, y0, y1 boxplot(height ~ voice.part, data=singer, horiz=TRUE) John Maindonald email: john.maindonald at anu.edu....

spatial statistics on images, any packages?
Hi list, Is there a package that covers the evaluation of spatial statistics on images and not on point data? I've converted an image matrix to x, y coordinates and a measurement value but evaluation with the package spdep (not really designed for image data I suppose) is unworkable. Any suggestions? Registry
Hi, I have an idea and I dont know if its bad or not, so please tell me ;o) There're some windows based applications I need to run but they do need some registry entries. If I choose to export my whole windows registry and import it to wine's registry, should it make wine crash/die/unworkable? MBJr.

term duplication among index tables
...erm strings as part of the key or data. I was wondering if there is a performance or complexity reason for not having a separate table mapping term strings to unique numbers, which could then be used in the other tables. Is this something that has been considered previously and discarded as unworkable, or do you think it may be worth pursuing? Cheers, Peter

How are bricks healed in Debian Jessie 3.11
...vice IaaS, e.g. OpenNebula. If one of the bricks is off-line for a period of time all the VM files systems will all have been modified when brick comes back on-line. As some of these VM file systems are quite large, 100GB+, our guess is that if healing involves copying entire files then it might be unworkable for us as the time to restore a few minutes downtime of a single brick could take days. Just copying modified blocks would be fine. Can someone give us some insight on how healing works? Regards, Gerry -- Gerry O'Brien Systems Manager School of Computer...

"utils" lacking namespace?
Hi all, A colleague of mine tried to install the package EMV, which had been removed from CRAN. she ran into some kind of trouble, R locked up, and she closed the program. Now when she starts R, "utils" can't be loaded which of course create an unworkable environment. Below I've copy-pasted the error message she gets when starting R. Any ideas on what went wrong, and more importantly, how to fix it? Many thanks in advance, Gustaf Rydevik Ps: She's running R on a WinXP box, if that might be of relevance... ---------------------------...

[cfe-dev] RFC: Supported Optimizations attribute
...;s representation in IR is unsafe to > speculate, it should be made impossible to speculate for standard > semantic/structural reasons, like having apparently arbitrary side-effects. > Peanut gallery says: I don't fully understand the use-case or the domain, but this description sounds unworkable to me. AIUI, there are two players here: the "brittle optimization" (which relies on some invariant), and the "transform" (which has the power to break that invariant). The only two mathematically workable scenarios are: (A) The brittle optimization's invariant is &quo...

Dealing with opencl kernel parameters in nouveau now that RES support is gone
...f INPUT is not suitable, > then I think we are going to need MEMORY[#], INPUT for this, which > nouveau can then just treat as CONST. That doesn't make sense... MEMORY is for... memory. Perhaps there's something I don't understand about kernel inputs that would make my suggestion unworkable? The way I see it is that you stick them into a user constbuf (i.e. pipe->set_constant_buffer({cb.user = pointer to your thing})), and then launch the grid. Your TGSI would have been composed such that it would expect the user params to show up in the first constbuf. You *really* want to be...

FW: desperate help needed - Samba and security = share
...folders, or (less preferred) the > valid users entry in smb.conf. > > I hope this helps, > > Andrew Bartlett Hi Andrew, That is exactly what I don't want to have to do. The work required initially plus the ongoing maintenance because of the turnover in staff here make that unworkable. I have installed CentOS and now have a version of Samba that still supports security = share I now have my fingers crossed that I can get it working because last time I used CentOS I couldn't get Samba to work properly either which is why I stayed with Fedora.
