Samba 4.19.2: "Unwilling to perform" password change
Hello All, I have a custom built version of Samba 4.19.2 running on Rocky Linux 9. When I attempt to change a password via LDAP, I get an error, "Unwilling to Perform". In Google searches I found that this is due to password complexity requirements. However, in my case, I get the error no matter how complex the password. Also, I have the following line in my smb.conf file: ldap server require strong auth = no The actual error I'm get...

change primaryGroupID - unwilling to perform
...y new user database. But nw I came across another strange issue: I'd like to change the primaryGroupID. It is currently set to 513, which simply does not exist. I wanted to set to 100, which exists and actually the user is a member of this group, but then I get the following exception: ldap.UNWILLING_TO_PERFORM: {'info': 'error in module samldb: Unwilling to perform during LDB_MODIFY (53)', 'desc': 'Server is unwilling to perform'} This is the equivalent LDIF: dn: CN=Lars LH. Hanke,CN=Users,DC=ad,DC=microsult,DC=de changetype: modify replace: primaryGroup...

"Unwilling to Perform" UNIX Attributes
...ernames, passwords, etc. The workstation is part of the domain, and I'm logged on as Administrator in the domain. I can create groups and add members to them when I create them. When I go back to edit group memberships, however, and I select "UNIX Attributes," I get the message "Unwilling to Perform." (While I can view things, and even tell the GUI to add them, unsurprisingly, no actual change is made.) No message appears in any of the samba4 logs. How should I troubleshoot this kind of problem? Other possibly relevant details: There's an OpenLDAP proxy between the...

S for the Unwilling
There is a draft of a new document at http://www.burns-stat.com/pages/Tutor/unwilling_S.pdf entitled "Using S for the Unwilling". (Or click on Tutorials from the main web page.) The aim is to get an inexperienced person who has a task to do in S-PLUS or R oriented and comfortable enough not to give up. The audience I have in mind has no experience with either stat...

ADUC - "UNIX Attributes" tab - "Unwilling To Perform"
...ution on my DC (and bind9 for DNS).. so perhaps any time delay could be explained by something inside sssd (I must try clearing the cache if this happens again) - I'm willing to believe that is the case there. However, this would not have any affect on ADUC. - ADUC now gives me this same 'Unwilling To Perform' error whenever I open the UNIX attributes of *any* group, now. Last night I'm fairly sure that I only experienced the error when looking at the new group. This error comes up in ADUC whenever I look at the 'UNIX Attributes' tab of a group with a NIS Domain and GID de...

how to keep up with R?
...g SAS. However, I am still forcing myself really hard to stay close to R by reading R-help and books and writing R code by myself for fun. But by and by, I start realizing I have hard time to keep up with R and am afraid that I would totally forget how to program in R. I really like it and am very unwilling to give it up. Is there any idea how I might keep touch with R without using it in work on daily basis? I really appreciate it. [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Formatting cgroup and factor level labels in Hmisc latex function
I'm trying to typeset at simple crosstable with the Hmisc latex function. And I have two problems. 1. How do I make all columns the same width? The Latex function seems very unwilling to break the 'cgroup' labels and the factor level labels. Please have look at this screenshot that shows my problem: >> http://hem.passagen.se/stpe9096/table.png So, how can I make sure that the cgroup labels and the factor level labels are sufficiently line breaked and/or hyph...

Cannot chown file to active directory user/group on member server
...'Unix Attributes". I picked the NIS domain, assigned a uid, a shell, a home diectory and left the Primary group name/GID at "Domain Users". I then went back to the group "Domain Users" and when I clicked on "Unix Attributes" it gave me a box that said "Unwilling to Perform". Not unable, but unwilling. We laughed. But nevertheless I was able to select the Add button, choose the user "Test One" from the list of Available NIS Users and click add and ok. Now on the member server I can do this: root at florence:/root# wbinfo -i test1 test...
