Split dataframe into new dataframes
Hi, I want to split a dataframe based on a grouping variable (in one column). The resulting new dataframes should be stored in a new variable. I tried to split the dataframe using split() and to store it using a FOR loop, but thats not working so far: df <- data.frame(A=c("A1","A1","A2","A2"),B=seq(1:4)) Fsplit <- function(x,y){ ls <-

Quadratic function with interaction terms for the PLS fitting model?
poly(NIR, degree = 2) will work if NIR is a matrix, not a data.frame. The degree argument apparently *must* be explicitly named if NIR is not a numeric vector. AFAICS, this is unclear or unstated in ?poly. -- Bert Bert Gunter "The trouble with having an open mind is that people keep coming along and sticking things into it." -- Opus (aka Berkeley Breathed in his "Bloom County" comic strip ) On Thu, Jul 13, 2017 at 10:15 AM, David Winsemius <dwinsemius at comcast...

Error: package 'lsei' is not installed for 'arch=i386'
Hi guys, I am having problem loading a package that I have installed. I have searched some old thread but they were no help in terms of solving the problem. I uninstalled every possible component of R and installed R 2.13 and followed the R-faqs installation steps. Then I installed the package (lsei) from local zip file which was installed successfully but can not be loaded and returns the error

Dovecot and kmail IMAP resources
For some time now I have been trying to get IMAP resources working on KMail. I have followed the docs from kde, but they tell how to configure cyrus IMAP, so I''ve had to learn as I went along. After a lot of help from the postfix list I now have a working sasl. The ability of the user ''groupware'' to log in with PLAIN has been checked in a telnet session.

sas.get function in Hmsic 3.4-4 vs. 3.0-12
Dear R Users, I have just installed R 2.8 today and also updated the Hmisc package to the latest 3.4-4 version. However, the sas.get function no longer works in the new Hmsic 3.4-4. Below is a sample code and output from the old and new, but the old one worked. Can someone tell me how sas.get should be used in Hmisc 3.4-4. Thanks, Larry Package Hmisc version 3.0-12 > a1 <-

logistic regression: wls and unbalanced samples
Greetings from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I am looking for advice / references on binary logistic regression with weighted least squares (using lrm & weights), on the following context: 1) unbalanced sample (n0=10000, n1=700); 2) sampling weights used to rebalance the sample (w0=1, w1=14.29); e 3) after modelling, adjust the intercept in order to reflect the expected % of 1?s in the

Friends, I am a newbie to R. Just installed and started with R. I installed netcdf library (netcdf-4.0.tar.gz) and then ncdf package of R from CRAN with the following command. R CMD INSTALL --configure-args="-with-netcdf_incdir=/usr/local/netcdf/include -with-netcdf_libdir=/usr/local/netcdf/lib" ncdf_1.6.tar.gz The installation was successful. But when
