Bug#569843: logcheck-database: acpid filter misses trailing white space
Package: logcheck-database
Version: 1.2.69
Severity: normal
Tags: patch
The syslog messages for acpid when a window client connects
or disconnect all have a trailing single space at each line.
Therefore the existing two patterns in
/etc/logcheck/ignore.d.server/acpid
fail to filter out the events. Furthermore, the disconnect
message includes a PID-numbered client, which is not present

Unreproduceable bug in Samba 2.0.6
Hello Samba Developers,
Recently I've caused an endless loop in Samba, which caused the log file
to fill up all usable disk space.
This is what I've done ( or better, what I think I've done, because the
bug is not reproduceable ) :
- Mounted my home directory via Windows Explorer under Windoze NT.
- Logged into account under same name on same machine ( bash )
- created a soft link

Generate reproducible output independently of the build path
...#39;ve been trying to get build tools and packages generate bit-for-bit identical output, even under different build paths. This is beneficial for users because they can more easily compare their builds with others, as well as other reasons.
At the moment about 400 out of 26000 Debian packages are unreproducible due to how R writes paths.rds files as well as RDB files. An example diff is here:
https://tests.reproducible-builds.org/debian/rb-pkg/unstable/amd64/diffoscope-results/r-cran-tensor.html
I've attached a patch (applies to both 3.3.3 and 3.4) that fixes this issue; however I know it's...

Bug#404530: python modules not installed using python policy; .pyc cruft as result
Package: xen-utils-3.0.3-1
Version: 3.0.3-0-2
Severity: normal
Since this package installs python modules in
/usr/lib/xen-3.0.3-1/lib/python/, and uses them directly from there,
not following the python policy, once xend has started up, lots of .pyc
files are created there, which will not be removed if the package is
purged.
These pyc files may also cause problem for future python upgrades, I

Panic running a scrub
This is probably unreproducible, but I just got a panic whilst
scrubbing a simple mirrored pool on scxe snv124. Evidently
on of the disks went offline for some reason and shortly
thereafter the panic happened. I have the dump and the
/var/adm/messages containing the trace.
Is there any point in submitting a bug report?

yet another test stream / Icecast2 segfault
Hi,
My stream is up and running until today evening somewhen (CET).
http://scapa.dnsalias.net/oggmusic.m3u
or directly:
http://scapa.dnsalias.net:8066/test.ogg
It's tested already, so it should work, but I don't know much about the
reliability yet. Icecast1 unreproduceable segfaulted on me sometimes and
that's what I want to know with Icecast2, too. It DID segfault today,
but only instead of properly terminating (I pressed CTRL-C and it said
"bye" with a segmentation fault). This happened while the source was
still connected and sending data.

Sporadic Homedirs lost
Hi List,
since the upgrade of a LDAP based PDC/BDC system to PDC/BDC and fileserver we
have problems with users sporadic loolsing their homedirs.
These events are unreproducible and only sporadic. Only the homedir not any of
the other shares mounted from the fileserver are subject to this connection
breakoff. The logs seem to suggest the username has been "forgotten" by the
fileserver as the user wants to access this private share.
Attached find a portion...

[PATCH] kvmalloc: always use vmalloc if CONFIG_DEBUG_VM
...ied if you can get away with it. Incorrect GFP flags cause real
problems with shrinkers - because shrinkers are called from alloc_pages
and they do respond to GFP flags.
I had reported deadlock due to GFP issues (9d28eb12447). And the worst
thing about these bug reports is that they are totally unreproducible and
I get nothing, but a stacktrace in bugzilla. I had to guess what happened
and I couldn't even test if the patch fixed the bug.
I'm not really happy that you are deliberately leaving these issues behind
and making excuses.

xen - megaraid_sas experience
Hi List,
I''ve testet a bunch of kernel- and module versions with megaraid_sas and
xen for months now.
With 2.6.18.8 kernel and v00.00.03.01 megaraid_sas module there seem to
be sometimes strange and unreproduceable segmentation faults up to
kernel panics under heave i/o load.
With 2.6.24-19-xen kernel from Ubuntu and v00.00.03.10 megaraid_sas it
seemed stable.
But I was able to reproduce a segmentation fault under heavy i/o(while
encrypting with aes-xts-plain)
Now with megaraid_sas v00.00.03.16 and...

Real Time and Asterisk
I'm investigating in deploying an asterisk solution. After some experiments, I noticed that asterisk is quite subect to unreproducible troubles and quality losses with variations
of server load, and also a lot of troubles that could be reconducted to timing problems, expecially with faxes.
I was wondering, would asterisk take benefits from being deployed on a real-time enabled linux? I tried making some researches on the net,...

winbindd requests failing with NT_STATUS_PIPE_BROKEN
...an AD
domain and is quite busy with answering winbindd requests of type
PAM_AUTH_CRAP, LOOKUPNAME, GETUSERSIDS, and LOOKUPSID. Several AD users
are member of more than 128 groups. In this production environment the
issue happens a few times a day, however in our development environment
the issue is unreproducible.
All observed occurrences have in common that we see following messages
in debug output:
winbindd: Exceeding 200 client connections, removing idle connection.
Found 200 idle client connections, shutting down sock 122, pid 28456

ov_pcm_seek
How do I seek back to the beginning of a stream using ov_pcm_seek()?
ov_pcm_seek(0) doesn't seem to do anything, though ov_pcm_tell()
returns 0 right after opening the stream.
I'm now using ov_pcm_seek(1) which seems to work, but I'm not sure
if that's really right. Are PCM offsets meant to be 0 or 1 based? Is
this a bug?
