VM migration problems
I have migrated KVM VMs from a CentOS 6 to a CentOS 7 host. All work fine post-migration, CentOS 3 (don't ask ...), CentOS 6, CentOS 7, Windows. But the CentOS 5 VMs failed. At some point during the boot process, they became unpingable and also inaccessible. I have correlated this to the start of the irqbalance service and was wondering if it is generally considered best practice to turn it off. The VMs in question all have at least 2 vcpus, and the C5 VMs are the odd ones out.

[BUG 2.6.32.y] Broken PV migration between hosts with different uptime, non-monotonic time?
...minutes apart): When migrating from a host with lower uptime to a host with higher uptime, the VM looses it''s network connection for some time and then continues after some minutes (roughly equivalent to the difference in uptime?). There are two different symptoms: Either the VM becomes unpingable, or the VM is pingable but the ssh-connection freezes: a while-loop dumping /proc/uptime freezes and continues without a jump after the freeze is over. When looking at the output of dmesg of the domU, I also see a jump in the timestamp: [1967742.320218] eth0: no IPv6 routers present [1968779.21...

Re: many guests on Xen 4 NR_DYNAMIC_IRQS success report...
...338 guests is enough for me, as my 64GiB boxes are reserved for 1GiB guests and up, and even on the 512MiB and smaller guests, the 32GiB servers rarely exceed 100 guests. Now, if you start more guests, (we started 479) while xl works, xm hangs forever. the domains we start after 338 are unpingable. Xend can not restart. xenconsoled keeps dying. We kill guests down to 300, restart xend and xenconsoled, and everything appears to be happy once again. Anyhow, uh, like I said, it appears to work just fine for 300 guests and below, which is enough for me. I''m guessing that much...

Need help getting two NICs to work on CentOS 7
Hello all Here is the scenario: We have a mail server VM which currently has two virtual NICs attached to it. One NIC is has an IP on a subnet with a default gateway defined and the other NIC has an IP on a different subnet with a different gateway on a different VLAN defined. Now when I activate both NICs, and run an ifconfig -a, I see that both IP addresses are showing. Now here is the

[PATCH 2/3] xen: make direct versions of irq_enable/disable/save/restore to common code
Now that x86-64 has directly accessible percpu variables, it can also implement the direct versions of these operations, which operate on a vcpu_info structure directly embedded in the percpu area. In fact, the 64-bit versions are more or less identical, and so can be shared. The only two differences are: 1. xen_restore_fl_direct takes its argument in eax on 32-bit, and rdi on 64-bit.
