Source code of early S versions

Source versions would only have been available with a nondisclosure agreement, and relatively few copies would have been distributed in source. Dropbox on CentOS 6?
Hi, I just spent a couple of unnerving hours trying to make Dropbox work on CentOS 6.6. Is there a way that 1. Actually works? 2. Doesn't include jumping through burning loops? Error on new install "View Application''s Environment"
Hello. I recently installed Rails on Gentoo, and did a "rails /var/www/localhost/htdocs/parallel_bible/" just to test. Everything *seemed* to work fine, but when I clicked on the "View your Application''s Environment" link, this happens (screenshot attached): http://thegoban.com/rorerror.png Any ideas? Is this normal? I know it''s not actually stopping me

Director questions
In playing with dovecot director, a couple of things came up, one related to the other: 1) Is there an effective maximum of directors that shouldn't be exceeded? That is, even if technically possible, that I shouldn't go over? Since we're 100% NFS, we've scaled servers horizontally quite a bit. At this point, we've got servers operating as MTAs, servers doing IMAP/POP

HPLIP vs. CentOS
Hi, Our local school has recently acquired an HP PageWide Pro 477 professional printer. According to HP, the printer requires HPLIP 3.16.3 at least. Unfortunately, CentOS is only shipping HPLIP 3.15.9. So I downloaded and installed the hplip/hplipfull package from the HP site. Installing this thing and getting it to work is not exactly a trivial task, as I documented in my blog:

Problems with plot and Quartz device (PR#13744)
Full_Name: Thomas Richardson Version: R 2.9.0 GUI 1.28 Tiger build 32-bit (5395) OS: 10.4.11 Submission from: (NULL) (216.254.15.72) I have encountered a problem with points in scatterplots disappearing in a quartz window when it is re-sized (to make it larger). I am constructing an 8x12 matrix of scatterplots each containing approx 600 points. In order to get them in the window I remove the

interesting kvm lvm collision issue
I've been running into a reproducible problem when using default LVM volume group names to present block devices for virtual machines in KVM, and I'm wondering why it is happening. On dom0 I make a default VolGroup00 for the operating system. I make a second VolGroup01 for logical volumes that will be block devices for virtual systems. In VolGroup01, I make two lv's for one system:

I think I found the problem: https://opia.illinois.edu/content/targeted-attack-protection-tuning UIUC is apparently rewriting HTML links in emails to redirect through urldefense.proofpoint.com. Baldur's Gate 2 randomly crashes ("Runtime error") with Wine-20041201
Hi there, I've recently compiled Wine-20041201 and I'm trying to get Baldur's Gate II running. The installation sequence is fine, so is the main menu, character creation etc. The problem is, once inside the actual game, the application randomly crashes giving me: Runtime error c:\bg2\BGMain.exe abnormal program termination This happens often enough to render the gameplay quite

uninstall R on Kubuntu
Dear list,[a] now is apparently the time, the R version I have installed so far has reached its days' end.[a1] Back on R help mailing list-I have to admit openly-I was advised so under the impression of being unnerved on the part of the corresponding R expert responder to a certain degree by the question of mine whether there were any error messages or unresolved dependencies to expect associated with other R packages (perhaps missing thus far on the computer of interest) when one would simply un-compress compre...

Attempted to delete none, xistent schedule entry 1! ??
I just upgraded my test Asterisk box to the latest CVS HEAD. "show version" only shows "Asterisk CVS HEAD built by root....etc", with no date or version number. I downloaded this version on Monday, Oct 3. About once every minute, I get this while at the CLI> prompt: sched.c:296 ast_sched_del: Attempted to delete nonexistent schedule entry 1! tune2fs options
Is there any way of making operations like dropping and adding a journal: tune2fs -O ^has_journal /dev/local/my_dev and tune2fs -o journal_data -j -J device=LABEL=my-journal-device /dev/local/my_dev more verbose? It would be nice to know what's going on, since just sitting there can be quite unnerving! In the end, it all worked ok, but actually seeing progress can be soothing. -- Ralf

problem with firefox
Just out of curiosity, has anyone noticed a problem that has developed with firefox? This started on both of my machines after the newest updates. I'll be at a website, even the mozilla website, and when I click on a link to go to another part of the site or to download a file, Firefox will just simply close. It's random for the most part, but it happened quite often at the sourceforge.net

Source code of early S versions
According to Wikipedia: "In 1980 the first version of S was distributed outside Bell Laboratories and in 1981 source versions were made available." but I've been unable to locate any version of S online. Does anyone have a copy, somewhere, rusting away on an old hard disk or slowly flaking off a tape? I've had a rummage round the CMU Statlib on archive.org but no sign of it,

389 Directory Server broken on CentOS 7
Le 15/08/2019 ? 14:51, Ulf Volmer a ?crit?: > Could you post the output of > > yum info 389-adminutil I just installed a vanilla CentOS 7.6 on a sandbox machine. Left configuration as is. Upgraded system : yum update. Configured EPEL without customizing anything. And all the 389-related packages installed successfully. So I guess the problem comes from my base configuration.
