asterisk.org webpage
hi all for new users, finding asterisk info is unneccesary troublesome. the asterisk.org page has very little information about the product and using google for 'asterisk' is like using google for 'linux'. you get all too many hits that has nothing to do with the product. perhaps the asterisk.org page at least should point to voip-info.org?...

Asterisk logging everything?
Hi, Is it possible to keep asterisk from logging exactly everything? I can do the logger rotate and keep the files small enough, but I think it's unneccesary to log exactly all data. File grows by about 5 gb per month! Thanks! Regards, Jan

Introducing R to statisticians
Dear all, I will present R language and R software environment to the Statistical Society of Serbia. As I will doing it to professional statisticians it seems unneccesary to me to present them how R language works in details. I am more interested to present them with the latest facts regarding R (approximately number of users, number of add-on packages etc.) and in general why they should start using it. I would be grateful if anyone could point to me a place where...

Of course, this is example code that I hacked out in about ten minutes just to illustrate the problem, so I would say that the goal is to optimize for speed of coding: I...

FLAC as part of the Ogg project?
...could find out how much data I need to buffer up before calling FLAC__stream_decoder_process_one_frame(), because the application I'm working on cannot request more data from within the flac_read() callback, and 2) see if I could get the decoder to work on my own buffer in order to avoid an unneccesary memcpy(). So although this is somewhat related, I haven't, for example, looked much at the encoder. -- Christer Palm

Dan, I am assuming that the version in CVS is the most current one. Report follows. -- shanko ------------------------------------------------------ C:\win32utils\win32-service\test>ruby tc_service.rb This test will stop and start your Clipboard service, as well as pause and resume your Schedule service. liboggplay and overlay video
Hi, I've eventually released the first version of my rendering library for Kate streams, and I've recently been hacking away at adding it to liboggplay. That was the missing "overlay" mode to the browser_plugin patch I sent a while ago. Now, I'm not too sure how to expose those overlays to liboggplay users: the obvious solution is to add a RGBA video type, and expose the

[LLVMdev] PassManager and dependencies
I can't seem to figure out how to tell the PassManager that one Pass requires the results of two other Passes, in such a way that it will not crash itself. Attached file is the simplest possible example of Passes A, B, and C, such that C's getAnalysisUsage(AU) method calls AU.addRequired<A>() and AU.addRequired<B>(). When I try to run opt -load ... -opt-c, it tells me:

I'm not exactly su...

liboggplay and overlay video
I think libkate should be able to render in the yuv colour space. A lot of players use hardware accelerated colour space conversion and scaling, so in addition to your point about saving unneccesary conversions, they are likely to be able to offload the compositing step as well. This means that libtiger should also be able to do the compositing in yuv. I think adding an RGB/RGBA frame type to liboggplay should *also* happen. yuv2rgb is tedious at best and hard to get right at worst, so being...

Comment Header - Chapters
Basically I'm looking for DVD like chapters to point to locations within the file. I'd prefer this over having multiple ogg files. Useful for long files, eg from live recordings, interviews, stories, plays and so on. I was thinking something along the lines of; comment[x]="CHAPTER=00:12:13 Third chapter" comment[x+1]="CHAPTER=00:13:56 Fourth chapter" Anyone else?

...ce comes for free with clarity. 3. If you REALLY want to be efficient, think about other short-cuts. In this case, a constant string is always returned. You could change the virtual method to always return a const char*, therefore avoiding a copy constructor call that may be unneccesary: virtual const char *name() const { return "B"; } ... but this obviously only works if all of the implementations ONLY return static strings. Anyway, good luck with LLVM. It's good to know that you're digging into the pass infrastructure stuff. I'll look into...

More configuration of internal http server?
I was wondering whether I could configure icecast to do hostname lookups on connecting IPs. I've been using webalizer on the icecast logs for a little while now but would like like to be able to get a better grasp for where my traffic is from (and possibly find a way to internationalize the station) by doing hostname lookups. --thanks Michael Edwards http://www.walledcity.ca <p>---

[LLVMdev] New C Frontend available
...timizations have been performed), including the names of automatic variables. This should help people who try to write testcases, but the optimizer deletes all their code. The second major advantage of the new frontend is that the generated code is much more type-safe, making the level-raise pass unneccesary, and should make LLVM analyses more accurate. The third major advantage of the new frontend is that it is configured for a particular system as a "native" compiler, instead of a cross compiler. This means that when we compile programs under linux, it will use the linux header files. Whe...
