Samba exporting an NFS mount
Hello,
I have an NFS server with all our user's home directories on a server that does not support SMB. I wish to mount this directory on a second system and re-export it via samba so that users can access their unix home directories from their windows boxes. My samba server is running CentOS 5.0, and I have the the home directories mounted at /home/na, and there is no rootsquash, so the

R Graph Gallery : categorization of the graphs
Hello all,
It seems that the next improvement to the R Graph Gallery is
categorization of the graphics, that way each graph will be easier to
find. That step should be done *carefully* if we want to avoid the
opposite side-effect : graph not reachable through the categories.
That's why the wisdom of the R community is required.
Graphics will be classified in :

Plotting quiver vector tensor arrows 2d field data
Hi All,
I'd like to plot something like
http://www.nawcwpns.navy.mil/~weather/mugu/mesodata/analysis.html
Looking through the galleries at
http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/allgraph.php
http://r-spatial.sourceforge.net/gallery/
http://fawn.unibw-hamburg.de/cgi-bin/Rwiki.pl?GraphGallery
demo(graphics)
I did not find a function to plot a 2d field on a matrix. I did find
mention of a quiver function in the archives. Is this the best solution
or are there other tools I missed?

I "crosspost" to both mailinglists.

...d be a good job for a wiki. The key advantage is it
requires minimal maintenance.
For an example of how this might work check out the code
samples (snippets) for the Lua language on their wiki at:

Actually there is already an R wiki at:

however, no one seems to use it. If a critical mass were to
post some code snippets it might get off the ground.

How to use ZFS volume
Hi,
I want to use Samba with ZFS volume, although I know 3.0.25c dose not
work with ZFS volume.
And I found modules/vfs_zfsacl.c on Samba-3.0.26.
(
http://viewcvs.samba.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/branches/SAMBA_3_0_26/source/modules/
)
But I can't find samba-3.0.26.tar.gz on samba.org.
So, I have two question.
1. It is possible to download samba-3.0.26.tar.gz (or something another
which can use

I have started using R on my Linux box (Debian), and I have some
problems with setting the editor/keyboard for R. The
For instance, arrow-up gives "^[[A", and delete gives "^H". I have a
Norwegian keyboard, but that doesn't cause any
problems for editors like emacs. Could you advice me on how I can set

Install Error on SGI Irix 6.5 (PR#637)
Hi,
I'm using R since Version 0.99 on a SGI Indigo 2 with Irix 6.5. I could compile
all Versions of R until 1.1.0.
When I try to compile Version 1.1.0 or 1.1.1 I get an error in the directory
/R-1.1.1/src/unix/X11. Trying to compile the file rbitmap.c in this directory
with the gcc compiler command
gcc -I. -I../../../src/include -I../../../src/include
-I../../../src/include/R_ext

R-(wiki)-pedia?
Is there an R wiki?
Looking at the huge amount of traffic on this list, I think wiki could be
an exelet outlet for all the constructive enthusiasm here.
I don't think it would be too hard to port the existing R documentation
(the stuff you get with the ?) onto a wiki system, then users could add
their own examples and comments.
Having distinct web page style organization would be easier to

par() in .Rprofile
Dear all
I installed new version (from binaries) and I noticed that
par(bg="white")
which I have in my .Rprofile causes error message on startup
But if I issued this command immediately after startup everything worked as
expected. I did not see any note in changes file or elsewhere.
Should I specify white background in .Rprofile differently?
Or is there some other recommended way

Looking for help in calculating percentiles
Hi All:
I am working with a dataset on Arsenic toxicity, and I am trying to
calculate the 20th, 40th, 60th, 80th, and highest percentiles for a
variable, dietary Moisture (variable name dMoist).
The inbuilt function quantile(dMoist) would print 0, 25th, 50th, 75th, and
100th percentile. Does there exist a function that can calculate xth
percentile (where x = 10th, 20th, ... etc) values?
