Creating/Protecting a Subnet
I have an admin machine, and a backup server which does backups. The backup server has IPMI so I can do lights-out admin, and I want to allow this from the admin machine only. IPMI is completely unfirewalled, and so it must have a different class C than working networks.... this is just how it is. I''ve set the IPMI IP on the backup server to 192.168.10.4, and created a virtual interface (eth0:1) on the admin machine with IP 192.168.10.1. But after following the Multiple Zones Through One In...

Please help I fear I have missed something very important! but what?
...number, but incoming calls don't work, and as far as I can see that should ring ext 1001 for 20 secs. Could someone please help a complete Linux/Asterisk Newb, as apart from this I have learnt a hell of a lot. But it's the last thing I need to solve. The linux box for this testing has a unfirewalled public IP address, so there is no problems with NAT Please please can someone help. If I have missed something important then I aplogise, as I have been scouring the wiki and the archives to no avail Regards Stuart Buchanan -----------------------------------------------------------------...

Asterisk configuration inside a DMZ w/SIP
...risk and the problems inherent to NAT, I decided OK, I'll just toss it on the DMZ with a public address, and let the clients themselves worry about addressing their NAT issues @ home, or wherever they might be. So here I am, with Asterisk running on the DMZ with a public IP address, totally unfirewalled to the outside world and now I find that not only can I not connect (from the nat side of the same SIP aware firewall hosting the asterisk server), but clients on public IP's, using no NAT at all, are either unable to connect, or are able to log in, but calls to any extension (whether they be s...

Simple Class A VPN Guide - Problems
Hey guys, Stumbled upon tinc a few days ago - looks great. I'm having trouble setting up a simple VPN between two machines that are unfirewalled, one is a physical machine and another is a local VM. I can connect to them via their existing LAN IPs and ping them without issue with < 1ms. 1) I have WinA (Windows host - existing LAN IP 192.168.137.1) and LinuxB (Linux host - existing LAN IP 192.168.137.150) 2) I want them to exist in a Cl...

Problems with E100P
Hi, I'm having trouble configuring and E1 link , I know the E1 is a PRI and the switchtype is 5ess. The problem is that everytime I try to dial I got and error saying that it was unable to open the zap channel . Devices are created in the /dev/zap directory and I can open them with a cat /dev/zap/1. I can also see the channels in /proc/zaptel/1. Thanks in advance [zaptel.conf]
