Error on new install "View Application''s Environment"
Hello. I recently installed Rails on Gentoo, and did a "rails /var/www/localhost/htdocs/parallel_bible/" just to test. Everything *seemed* to work fine, but when I clicked on the "View your Application''s Environment" link, this happens (screenshot attached): http://thegoban.com/rorerror.png Any ideas? Is this normal? I know it''s not actually stopping me

Need firewalld clue
I don't really understand the intent behind firewalld. The RHEL7 Security Guide states "A graphical configuration tool, *firewall-config*, is used to configure firewalld, which in turn uses *iptables tool* to communicate with *Netfilter* in the kernel which implements packet filtering". So is the goal for firewalld to implement a GUI for iptables? What is the "value added"

help with rchk warnings on Rf_eval(Rf_lang2(...))
Dear r-devel folks, [if this is more appropriate for r-pkg-devel please let me know and I'll repost it over there ...] I'm writing to ask for help with some R/C++ integration idioms that are used in a package I'm maintaining, that are unfamilar to me, and that are now being flagged as problematic by Tomas Kalibera's 'rchk' machinery (https://github.com/kalibera/rchk); results are here https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kalibera/cran-checks/master/rchk/results/lme4.out The problem is with constructions like ::Rf_eval(::Rf_lang...

beginner's guide to C++ programming with R packages?
...example code of the package are in there. Can I force R to use those *.so files instead of the ones in /usr/lib/R ? I also wonder "what is wrong with gprof? In the Writing R Extensions manual, it describes "oprofile" and "sprof" for Linux. I will try them, but they are unfamilar to me. I've used gprof in the past in C projects, and it is a pretty painless thing to add a compiler flag -pg, run the program, and then review gmon.out. The Writing R Extensions manual does not mention gprof in its section on Linux, but it does mention it under Solaris. There is a somewhat...

install packages question
...tried R CMD BATCH testfile and similarly it dropped the CMD and the BATCH and just invoked R also Does anyone know what I need to change ( probably in my .envfile ) so that R knows what these commands mean ? I am familar with installing R ( binary ) and various packages on windows but I am very unfamilar with Linux. I think if I can get this fixed, I might be able to install the specific packages I need because the instructions on pg 16 are clear. Thanks a lot. -------------------------------------------------------- This is not an offer (or solicitation of an offer) to buy/sell the securities/i...

Switching to git (Windows experience) (was re:[cfe-dev] GitHub anyone?)
.... That is really different workflow approach. I guess people here can be divided on those who using/used both svn and git and familar with both. Or a minor part, but still some group that are familar with svn only. I think latter group just reads this thread and do not leave comments, just because unfamilar with git enough to do that. Tanya Lattner and Anton Korobeynikov wrote about some kind of survey that can bring on top the real distribution of opinions, I think this idea was good, if that is a point of interest. >~Aaron

Re: Need firewalld clue
...use. 3. firewalld(RedHat/CentOS), or SuSEfirewall(Suse), or similar are the tools that simplify the task of creating the needed iptable rules, as not every one wants to write them by hand. 4. GUI tools, that allow to manipulate the config of firewalld (or similar), for those that are unfamilar with the command line, or want a quick and graphical way to do the job needed. Does that answer your question about *value added* by GUI tools? Not every user that needs to change firewall settings is a certified UNIX admin. - Yamaban.

DragonFly BSD icecast HOWTO

All, I finally made a chance to finish my HOWTO for setting up an icecast/ices2 server. For those that are unfamilar with this technology, it allows you to stream audio across the Internet. Please review, comment, etc. http://wiki.dragonflybsd.org/index.php/HOWTO/icecast If anyone has an idea for another HOWTO, I'm all ears. I presume the observed values mentioned above refer only to observed RESPONSE variable 2. Pearson residuals vs. sqrt fitted values (should form band with no patterns) I'm totally unfamilar with using Pearson residuals. Until I can see example of a band with no patterns I can't really say if my output is OK! Could this band also be described as a cloud of points with no pattern? Keyboard problems on Centos 5.4
...make it known. NB: the code's change and there doesn't seem to be any particular codes Is this because i'm running centos on the VM? Any ideas how i go about actually fixing this? I've had Centos dual booted with winxp on this same hardware previously without any problems. Being unfamilar (having not used Centos much) I don't really have any idea where to start to resolve this. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... About Passing Arguments to Function
Hi, Below I have a function mlogl_k, later it's called with "nlm" . __BEGIN__ vsamples<- c(14.7, 18.8, 14, 15.9, 9.7, 12.8) mlogl_k <- function( k_func, x_func, theta_func, samp) { tot_mll <- 0 for (comp in 1:k_func) { curr_mll <- (- sum(dgamma(samp, shape = x_func, scale=theta_func, log = TRUE))) tot_mll <- tot_mll + curr_mll }

...fined in > ?? - arch/arm64/include/asm/paravirt.h > ?? - arch/x86/include/asm/paravirt_types.h > ?? - arch/arm/include/asm/paravirt.h Yes, I know. This is just a hack to make it compile. Other than the same names this has nothing to do with pvops, but is just a function vector. > I am unfamilar with arm code. ...w that what would be > released as FC2 would have a changed kernel interface? My God, I actually can't believe you could even make such a statement. At this point, it's _futile_ to even really debate you anymore, you keep talking from a total standing of "assumption" and "unfamilarity." Something a maintainer of a package would not be, unless he honestly didn't care. Fedora Core 2 (2004May) was released 6 months _after_ Linux 2.6 (2003Dec). Fedora Core 1 -- fka Red Hat Linux 10 -- had just been released (2003Nov) before kernel 2.6. Within 2 months, Rawhide/Develo...
