samba-ldap and password expiration
Hello every body,
i am using samba (2.2.8a) with ldap support. In the samba.schema,
there are special attributes relatives to the user passord:
pwdMustChange, pwdCanChange, kickoffTime, logoffTime, logonTime and
pwdLastSet.
All the samba's documentations i can found described those attributes
as "currently unused", execpt the last one that represent the time
modification since 1970.

[Bug 98] state ESTABLISHED allow ipip tunnels
...|WORKSFORME
------- Additional Comments From netfilter@linuxace.com 2004-08-28 02:31 CEST -------
I cannot reproduce this on 2.6.8.1. Protocol 4 is indeed treated just like any
other unknown protocol, and dropped if not specifically allowed.
Perhaps the user had an unexpired entry already in conntrack during his testing...

icecast https stream and Sonos
...a Sonos ONE player.
It might have something to do with the ssl handshake.
>From the developer page from sonos i found this:
Some common reasons for SSL handshake failures include:
? Expired certificate: Every certificate has a validity window before it expires. You need to present Sonos with unexpired certificates.
? DNS name mismatch: Your certificate must match the DNS name used in the Sonos service catalog. If the URL in the Sonos service catalog is https://stremingservice.example.com/svc, then your certificate must have a subjectAltName or a Common Name matching streamingservice.example.com....

FYI: http
I just had to browse to a printer... and with https-use-strict at a server
higher up, firefox *would* *not* let me get there. I don't see the
circa-2012 printer offering https.
Luckily, there was konqueror, which *did* let me go to http://<printer>
I just *adore* SmartSoftware that Won't Let You Endanger Yourself....
Reminds me of Jack Williamson's old novel, The Humanoids.

"PAM rejected by account configuration" and "fatal: monitor_read: unsupported request: 24" problem at secong sshd instance
Hi,
I setup two sshd instance (using OpenSSH_3.5p1 bins on redhat7.2 kernel
2.4.20-19.7smp ) in order to achieve differnet sshd settings (e.g use
different auth.method) on two different network interfaces (both on port
22).
For example to setup Hostbased authetication on the 1st sshd
and RSA pub. key auth. on the second:
The 1st instance config file /etc/ssh/sshd_config looks like:

smbldap-tools and disabling a user
Hey everyone,
When someone leaves the company, I prefer to disable their
account rather than remove it (so that you can see who owns any
files they might leave on a filesystem somewhere). I'm using
an LDAP backend for Samba, and I'm using smbldap-tools to
manage accounts.
So, today I was going to disable an account for the
first time since switching over from plain /etc/passwd and

Password Expiration when using LDAP
Hi,
We are planning to move all of our win2k server
(currenty around 50!) alongwith AD to Linux, we are
planning to use LDAP based samba domain controllers
for authentication and file/print serving. We are
doing a pilot and things are fine till now, just one
simple problem, what should we do with our password
policy, we have three restrictions relating passwords

PDC BDC should I or shouldn't I?
Hello everyone I hope this is the right place to post this question. I
have all but eliminated all Microsoft servers in my current work
environment, expect two boxes, which are our PDC and BDC, they also are
the DNS, Dial in With Rocket Port Card, DHCP, Winslookup servers. I
would like to remove these NT boxes and replace them with a nice shiny
new Linux box running Samba. Reading some of

samba backup software
I'm curious to what people are using for backing up their samba servers.
Here's are some specs to consider:
- 1TB (yes, that's terabyte) of data
- multiple servers backup to one tape drive connected to a server
(preferably a linux system)
- using an autoloader (in this case, an HP 1/9 LTO system)
- need to be able to backup daily changes and/or changes since last full
backup

More on qdiscs
I notice one other small problem with my modified version of SFQ.
The fact that packets can be dropped at dequeue time is incompatible
with the way HTB (and probably CBQ and others modeled on it) keep
statistics. When I fill a low rate queue causing packets to expire
and be dropped at dequeue I get interesting statistics like this:
This is my variant of SFQ
