Booting
...9;t know what USB booting is (TO overcome this)
In sequence in mind:
Running Windows,
Insert the USB stick,
Change to F: (or whatever USB stick is)
Click a reboot file
reboot the machine into the USB stick
Work in the USB environment
shutdown, removed the USB stick
boot back into Windows (totally uneffected)
How is this possible? (I'm willing to write my own reboot.exe if it does
not exist already)
Thank You
Barry

Buffer in IceCast
Hi Maarten,
Yes, I'm behind ADSL with PPPoE but I don't think it is related with my
case. When my client disconnects from IceCast server for 15-20 seconds, my
active downloads are not interrupted. It currently effects only the route
to my IceCast server, other routes looks uneffected. I'm pinging IceCast
server continuously and checking trace route periodically. It is comething
like: my IceCast server is 6 hops far from me and when my connection
goes-gomes it becomes 8 hops far from me. Also some addresses on trace route
are not the same. This is why I see this situation as...

Outlook + attached files
I am not sure where to begin to look into how to solve this problem.
I've setup a samba 3.0.0 Fileserver moved all of my users files over to it,
works great thanks developers=). I've encountered a few documented problems
such as the Excel saving over another file thing(already been patched I
belive). And a few I can't find anything on.
One specifically is causing me some grief. We

Mongrel and EBADF error consuming resources
...stuck on single file/EBADF error.
It happens with a number of different urls, and they''re all
caches_page so I don''t think it has anything to do with my rails code.
Also, the mongrel process is still usable during this time (I can
request pages from it and the loop below continues uneffected, so its
not one request locking up the process). Any ideas on how I can
straighten this out?
thanks,
Zach

New hack against BSD, Linux is _mostly_ safe from it.
My housemate has formalized a sortof new attack against unix-style
operating systems. He''s a BSD fan, so that''s where he developed the
attack. He asked me to check Linux, which I did. It seems Linux is
not vulnerable to it. This attack is going out to BUGTRAQ tonight.
The attack isn''t too serious because it requires physical access to
the console, but it

params pattern when writing modules
So, I''ve been looking into the params pattern for writing modules, ie.
having a params.pp file that init.pp inherits from as a place to use custom
logic to set variables, and it seems very useful. I do have one question
that I''m hoping someone can answer. If, for example, I look at an example42
module, everything is in params.pp. On the other hand, looking at, say,

HTB, strange capacity distribution
Hello,
after spending several hours reading archives, I decided to write new
post.
I successfully set up packet classification, made some basic HTB
setup, made some simple graphical representation from HTB statistics
data...
BUT, I cannot figure out how to refine HTB to get this behaviour:
I need that class "p2p" should be the last one to get some link
capacity.
If I set both RATE
