Design Decision for KVM based anti rootkit
Shortly after I sent the first email, we found that there is another way to achieve this kind of communication, via KVM Hypercalls, I think they are underutilised in kvm, but they exist. We also found that they are architecture dependent, but the advantage is that one doesn't need to create QEMU<-> kvm interface So from our point of view it is either have things easily compatible with many architectures out of the box (virtio) VS compatiability w...

Design Decision for KVM based anti rootkit

Asterisk forum created
I saw several threads requesting an Asterisk forum to complement the email list. i.e. http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-dev/2004-February/003103.html I recently created an Asterisk forum within TMC's popular VoIP forums for everyone to use. http://voip-forum.tmcnet.com/voip-forum/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=15

PDC and BDC load-balancing
...the PDC, but the BDC only services about 3 or 4 connection requests. In fact, try it with 5 users, and the PDC still gets caught in a vicious smbd process cycle, and the BDC might service 1 request. Is it because the BDC is a significantly slower machine? Even though it's slower, it's underutilised, and the PDC is swamped. I put the BDC on the same switch as the workstations, so traffic-wise, it should be getting the requests sooner than the PDC. Is there a way of increasing the possibility of the BDC servicing a logon request? If I know BDCs are what I need, I'll set up more. Any adv...
