[LLVMdev] Google Summer of Code 2009
Hi,
I am final year undergraduate in the Indian Institute of Technology
Kanpur, India and I would like to work on the LLVM compiler
infrastructure in the summers under Google Summer of Code 2009.
I am greatly interested in adding new transformations and optimization
passes to the existing compiler - particularly the _value range
propagation_ or _predictive commoning_. Since coming across

Best R textbook for undergraduates
R-helpers:
I'm sure this question has been asked and answered through the ages, but
given there are some new textbooks out there, I wanted to re-pose it. For
a course that will cover the application of R for general computing and
spatial modeling, what textbook would be best to introduce computing with R
to *undergrads*? I understand Bivand and Pebesma's book is fine for
spatial work,

delete rows
Hello. I came across your response in an R forum and could use your help. I have a data set with 472 rows. I want to delete rows 416 through 472. The name of my data set is MERGE.
I am an extreme R novice. How do I write a script to accomplish this?
Thank you.

re: GUI's for teaching
Dear All,
This is a question to sound out possibilities.
I am with the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at the
University of Western Australia, representing a few of the more
statistically minded in the faculty. Essentially, there have been
problems in the past with software support, changing over statistical
software, and paying lots of money for it. In R you have an advanced

LLVM possible projects
@Vivek, thanks for your answer and especially these links!
I just want to add two more though I am not sure if they are useful
here:
- Some slides [0] that explain the general structure of LLVM and LLVM-IR I
used in our compiler class last year [0].
- Examples that build LLVM-IR "from scratch". These were designed to
help students to build an LLVM-IR frontend for their AST.

Improving "Control-Flow Select" Vectorization Remark
Hello all,
My name is Sahil Yerawar, Btech 3rd Year Undergraduate student at
IIT-Hyderabad. I am currently working on improving vectorization diagnostic
remarks in LoopVectorize.cpp. I have some familiarity with LLVM as we
studied it in Compiler Engineering Course at IITH.
Here is our first effort to improve one of the remarks.
