Idea to possibly improve flac?
I'd like to express a few things whilst I have the ear atleast a few folks. There once was a program called oddcast, and then edcast that you could use on linux to broadcast an OggFLAC encoded audio stream from jack. Sounds like something many folks would be interested in doing, but I haven't heard to much of a peep about it. At any rate, it had a a few issues legally and technical

Maildir - Need script to delete old unread messages
Trying to clean out old undead messages from users to reduce disk space. Need a script that will recurse all the user directories and delete all unread email that is over 90 days old. Anyone have that?

Re: Wine on OpenBSD
...where. Put a bug report [Bug 19987] Wine 1.1.29 on OpenBSD4.6 - "Successful Build"; but Dynamic Loader Failure (which is most likely a continuation of [Bug 16666] wine segfaults on launch on OpenBSD). Think I suggested this elsewhere; but what do you Gents think about getting OpenBSD/Undeadly/Daemonforums to open up forum/wiki/mail distro(e.g., ports/pkgs mailing list) "Topic threads" so the programmers can start trading hack notes? Figure the wine pkg(http://openports.se/emulators/wine)'s maintainer (ariane at stack.nl) would be a good choice for a POC. Putting it on...

IPSEC btwn stable and Linksys BEFVP41 stopped working.
Hi, I have been using IPsec to communicate between a laptop that tracks -stable and a Linksys BEFVP41 router. I only use it infrequently, but it's been working great. My setup is as described in http://grapeape.alerce.com/linksys-ipsec/article.html (which I am planning to submit to the handbook when it's done). I'm no longer able to make an ipsec connection, and I can't put my

playlist display issues
Hi. I'm running the wonderful icecast 1.3.11 and ices on a RedHat 7.2 box. Everything seems to work as it should except for various client mp3 players being able to display the artist/song title information. I've had the same problem using different streamers so I'm wondering if this is a problem with the way I've configured icecast? Did I miss something or is this possibly an

[PATCH] xen/smp: Fixup NOHZ per cpu data when onlining an offline CPU.
The xen_play_dead is an undead function. When the vCPU is told to offline it ends up calling xen_play_dead wherin it calls the VCPUOP_down hypercall which offlines the vCPU. However, when the vCPU is onlined back, it resumes execution right after VCPUOP_down hypercall. That was OK (albeit the API for play_dead assumes that the CPU stays dead and never returns) but with commit 4b0c0f294 (tick:

IPsec works, but racoon/IKE does not
I have no idea whatsoever as to why racoon/IKE does not work here. I've tried various how-to documents but found nothing that works for me. Gateway (10.0.0.1) running 4.9-stable. Laptop (10.0.0.10) running 5.2.1-release. Both running racoon-20040408a On the gateway 10.0.0.1 # cat /etc/ipsec.conf add 10.0.0.1 10.0.0.10 esp 691 -E rijndael-cbc "1234567890123456" -A hmac-sha1

ices 0.2.2 does not reencode mp3s
I recently upgraded ices from 0.1.0 to 0.2.2. I have found that it is not reencoding my mp3 stream, even though I have it configured to. This is on a RedHat linux 7.0 system, kernel 2.4.11 ices build commands: ./configure --with-perl --with-lame \ --with-lame-includes=/usr/local/src/lame-3.89/include \ --with-lame-libraries=/usr/local/src/lame-3.89/libmp3lame/.libs gmake

OpenSSH + chroot + SELinux = broke
...in Feb. when ChrootDirectory was announced, and I did not see a solution posted. (The best answer I saw was from jirib, who tried out the feature and then suggested changing all of the user's home directories to go under ChrootDirectory. That is not a workable solution for me. See http://undeadly.org/cgi?action=article&sid=20080220110039&pid=28 ) As a contrasting example, consider the patch mentioned above. It has been used (in the wild) since OpenSSH version 3.2.2. It chroot's a user's home at whatever directory level you specify, using a special "/./" f...
