Dovecot auth username mapping
Thank you for the response Axel. I will look into that. I did attempt to switch the PAM/Kerberos authentication to Dovecot LDAP authentication, but now performance is unbelievably slow. For example, with PAM/Kerberos, a user can log into webmail and have all of their emails/folders showing almost immediately. When using Dovecot LDAP, it takes literally 8-10 seconds to see the same thing. I

autocomplete question
I''ve just started using the unbelievably easy and cool auto-complete feature. Does anyone know if you can make it search only from the start of the string (or from the beginning of each word)? By default it seems to do a complete search of the strings - typing MI returns both "Mike Jones" and "Mary Smith". I have to believe this will be much slower as the number of

getpagesize / libsysfs broken with 0.148
Hi all, the implementation of getpagesize() is broken in klibc. klibc uses sysinfo.mem_unit, which linux interpretes as the memory unit all other memory values returned are to be multiplied with. So it's perfectly ok for the linux sysinfo() to return a mem_unit of '1', which is does if the memory available for this machine fits into the counter. For the unbelievers, have a look in

Hi I''m currently setting up a game server and have opened all ports needed to run it. What other options do I have regarding protecting the open ports? I''m worried about people attacking the open ports to render the server useless. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you. Recoil UK

I will still try to set up a FreeBSD 10.2 box at some point for system testing. I set up a FreeBSD 10.2 system, and tested a USB MGE Evolution against NUT v2.7.3. No USB issues so far, and it's been running since this morning. > > You might also...

Dovecot auth username mapping
Peter, Yes that is a possibility. I will try disabling PAM (or switching the auth order) and see if that makes a difference. compression level
hi I was wondering how many difference in % of cpu load (on same cpu) exists between compression level 1 and 8 while decoding. Also same question for encoding. Is the difference in % of cpu load while decoding/encoding the reason different compression levels were created or another reason? thx -- 'C makes it easy to shoot yourself in the foot; C++ makes it harder, but when you do, it blows

Hi All, I don't know if this has been discussed here but creation dates are nto being preserved on OSX 10.6.1 in 64 bit mode. Rare of course, the folks that are using 64 but I am getting reports. I built in 64 with the usual crtimes and fileflags patches. Otherwise works like a dream and, in 64, is unbelievably Fast! Thanks, Rob
