OT - Please don't feed the Troll(s)
Folks,
I fully understand the emotional need to respond to one who throws
around terms like "Communist", "Tyrannical", etc. even if ostensibly
framed as a rhetorical question. Certain terms and phrases are by nature
pejorative and I;m sure the OP knew this when he entered his post.
My feeling was the OP is either an ignorant, unappreciative,
self-centered, and emotionally

Bugfix release?
...t, and may be some
time in the future until I have an oppurtunity to revisit FLAC. So, as I have
been quite satisfied yet always mindful with FLAC, I simply wanted to encourage
any potential cumulative bugfix release... and or repository tag/update
as such... should it be warranted. It would not go unappreciated by
the base users, myself included. Thanks :-)
ps: I cannot speak for any other set of users, but my main current
use of FLAC is to shrink rips for storage and playback. And to
expand them back to the identical original rip as needed. Beyond
that basic requirement, my current interest is in workin...

Can't get 'root preexec' to run
Hi Rowland,
thank you for your effort! However, this is entirely not what I am
trying to achieve.
What I am trying to achieve is to get the "prexec" method to work.
The reason behind this is that I would like to have a zfs data set
created per user in an automatic (scripted) way. The reason behind that
is that if I do this by hand - from a domain admin account and with the

Draggables and overflow:auto
Hey guys. I''m trying to drag between two lists, except one list is
really long so I set a height on the <ul> with overflow:auto.
Unfortunately when I drag between the lists I can''t drag items outside
of the <ul> with the overflow on. Does anyone know how I can make this
work? I think I might be able to hack up something with rico''s live
tables, but that

Bugtracker Karma Hall Of Fame
The Karma Hall Of Fame is now available at:
http://bugs.digium.com/karma_halloffame.php
Users with negative karma aren't named'n'shamed.. YET.. but congrats to all
the users with positive karma on the current list! The list shows all users
holding the top 10 karma scores in the system. Right now you need a 12 or
above to feature on the list, and there's a boat load of people just

Authentication to Secondary Domain Controller initially fails when PDC is offline
Thanks for the clarification, Daniel. And I like to think my users are
fast thinkers and might restart their machines eventually. But without
file and compute (Samba 4 member) servers being accessible, my
infrastructure virtually is down.
Again I ask: am I the only one having this problem? It must affect many
users of a basic Samba4 setup: two or more DCs, some Windows clients and

Rowland, I apologize: I have overlooked this answer of yours before my
last post.

You mean in general or in my assumed use case?

Authentication to Secondary Domain Controller initially fails when PDC is offline
The only way this would work out oft he box would be to ctdb (custer) samba4 dcs! So one dc is down the logged on users are transfered to the next without great delay. But status now this is not possible for dcs, only for member servers.

Multiple language output - Correct in RGui, wrong in .txt after sink()
I have the following problem with outputting multilingual data to a file.
I get (except for Korean) what I expect as result in the RGui, but when I
use sink() to output to a text file loose the characters in the foreign
languages.
I post a small example below. Since I am not sure how well my email system
as the list copes with all the different characters I have additionally

The lone PC in Raleigh
Last week I had the pleasure of attending the Raleigh area Ruby users Meetup.
It was very interesting and very informative.
I did feel a bit out of place when we noticed that of the 11-12 people
there, I was the only one with a PC laptop. The rest were shiny macs.
Ah well, I need to replace this thing soon, and now that BootCamp is
out, I really have no more excuses. This way I can test

Can't get 'root preexec' to run
Hi,
I am trying to automatically create nested zfs data sets as home
directories. I have a script that works fine if I execute it manually as
root (auth via public key). It also creates a short log file in the same
dir.
However, this section in my smb.conf (on the DC) doesn't seem to execute
(no data set created, no log file) on user logon (on a member server):

Ok, I see. Nevertheless, thank you very much for your effort!
I must say that I can't actually believe that no one knows an answer to
this problem. It must affect MANY people using Samba DCs. According to
all the tests on the wiki, everything is working fine. Then I pull the
plug on my first DC and no one can log on. And this time I waited far
longer than the suggested "refresh
